Announcement:
I AM ENGAGED!
So a lot has happened. It was my 21st birthday then my 2 year anniversary which my boyfriend proposed on and then I have been swamped with Finals. School ends Friday so updates will be more frequent. Enjoy the chapter.•Tom's POV•
"Alright lads right this way," I directed servers into Lia's office for lunch. With them came carts of multiple different foods, all her favorite of course.
"Tom what is all this?" Lia asks standing abruptly from her desk. Stassie a lot more controlled.
"It's food darling. It's your first day back and I knew Stassie was here so I figured you would want to eat and talk more about the wedding. And also maybe sample foods and cakes together." I really hope that's believable. I want my friends back and more importantly I want her back.
"That's thoughtful of you Thomas. Thank you. I'll go get Haz so he can feel like he has a say." Stassie says while exchanging glances at Lia.
After she leaves and the servers are finished setting up, I tip them and tell them when lunch is over.
"Tom you didn't have to do this. Haz was about to get us for lunch."
"I know but I wanted to do something for you. Plus we didn't get to have breakfast together so I thought maybe we can do lunch," I explain. "I'm sorry if I pushed or imposed." I rambled.
"Oh well thank you. This is really sweet Tom." She said looking right into my eyes.
I was so hypnotized by those beautiful globes that when Stassie and Haz returned I didn't notice. Only when she broke the connection did I look away.
"Hi mate, is everything ok here?" Haz said hesitantly.
I know we need to talk this out and not just pretend nothing happened but it's hard. I don't want to lose my best mate.
"Yeah I just wanted to bring lunch for everybody. Help yourselves to whatever, we have all lunch break."
While everyone made their plates there was a silence. Not an awkward kind, where you hear the grasshoppers, but one like when you're in class taking a test. The silence where everyone is busy so there's no words. It's hard to describe.
"So how much wedding planning has happened?" Haz asked the ladies.
"Well no thanks to you, we have a date for the dress fitting and that same day will be for your tux." Lia answered rolling her eyes at his lack of preparation on his part.
"What would I do with out my two favorite ladies?" He says coming over behind Lia and gives her a wet kiss on the cheek.
"Well without me you wouldn't have her so... Guess that means you'd still be single and alone," She says throwing a piece of food at him.
I don't know if it is in my head but I feel left out on all the laughter. But so far no one has kicked me out so that's a good sign.
"Well I should head back to work. The clean up crew while be here soon so grab any leftover you all want." I said standing up and readying myself to leave.
"Hey Tom." Lia says stopping me by the door. "Thank you, for the lunch and not trying to push things. I appreciate that you're being respectful."
She reaches up and kisses me on my cheek.
"I'll see you at home ok?"
"Yeah I will meet you there darling." I say walking out and closing the door.
Walking back to my office all I can think about is that kiss. Yes it was just a kiss on the cheek but she initiated it. I can't wait to see her again tonight.
I'll win my wife back no matter how many baby steps we have to take. I'll do what I have to.
When I walk inside my office the phone starts ringing. I walk over to answer it to find Dr. Hopper.
"Mr. Holland?" She says seriously.
"Did you do it?" I asked. After a brief pause she replies.
"We need to meet. Now."
