Chapter 57

"Mommy! Daddy!" Rose runs to her parents as soon they came into view from the garden path leading to our front door. They got a flight earlier than expected and called in so they could just pick up Rose in our house since Elizabeth's work is not until 5pm and its just 11am. When I told Elizabeth about it, her instinct of being a good host kicks in and she started preparing a heavenly lunch for all of us and now I can't wait to eat that tomato soup and pesto pasta she made, our kitchen really smells divine.

"Hi sweetheart! Oh I missed you!" Scarlett says lifting a giggling Rose in her arms and smushing her with so many kisses which made me so happy to see. Elizabeth giggles and leans on my side wrapping her arms around my waist while my arm automatically wraps around her pulling her close.

"Damn, are we in some kind of a story book or what? This place is amazing." Colin says as he walks towards us. I glanced at Elizabeth who has a wide smile on her face feeling proud. Well, she should be really. Our home came straight out of a story book.

"Hey, how was it?" I asked pulling away from Elizabeth as Colin gives each one of us a hug while Scar and Rose are still having a moment behind him.

"Well, false alarm. They are actually so well and good so we decided to go back earlier since we really miss Rose." He says

"This place is incredible" Our head turns as Scarlett goes over to us. "Hi Lizzie!" She smiles and goes to hug Elizabeth completely ignoring my presence which is so typical of her really. I rolled my eyes. a smirk playing on my lips, then I felt small hands in mine making me look down at Rose who is giggling watching Elizabeth and Scarlett hug. When Scarlett pulls away she looks at me and raised her brows.

"You didn't tell me you live in a dream house, you nutter." Elizabeth giggles and I roll my eyes.

"I'm happy to see you too Scar." I say giving her a tight hug. She gives me a playful slap on the shoulders but squeezes me tighter making me smile.

"You missed me." I say as I pull away and she rolls her eyes.

"Oh come on in, I made lunch. You must he so tired of your flight, come." Elizabeth says as she gestured us to come in taking the lead.

"Its really nice to see you two together really." Scar whispers to me, pulling me closer after I shut the door behind us. "And damn your place is so damn beautiful." I smile in pride. It really is, its magical really.

"You should see this place at night." I say and she smiles looking at me before scanning her eyes around the house.

"Shan"

"Yup?" I say raising my head to look at her.

"Can you please—"

"Set up the table got it." I say and she smiles. Scar let's go of my arm while I walk towards the kitchen catching Elizabeth's hand as I walk past her making her giggle and shake her head. I immediately made my way to the kitchen cabinets and drawers taking out some plates, glasses and some utensils and also table napkins while I hear muffled conversation and laughter by the living room and its making me look like a psychopath smiling to myself all alone in this room.

Well, its really nice knowing Scar and Elizabeth are rekindling their friendship again. After not working with each other and not seeing each other quite often according to the both of them and with what just happened with the both of us, their friendship kinda just faded away, and now they're back and that is just refreshing in some kind of way.

By the time I was finished setting up the table and placing our heavenly lunch on the table, they started to come in having laughs making me smile.

"So what's for lunch?" Scarlett says looking up to me and seeing Rose smiling makes me want to 'entertain' them for a bit so I say in a very posh Italian accent which reminds me of how Angelo talked to us back in Italy.
