The Loss of Gold (Sonadow) - Completed

Chapter 8

Meanwhile…

Sonic couldn’t help but tap his foot as he, Shadow, Rouge, Knuckles, Queen Alena, Sonia, Manic and Sally waited on sides of the bridges that the battle would take place.

“Sonic! Over here” Alena calmly spoke up for her son who sighed, they would split so they stood on different sides and sadly Sonic had to stand with his siblings and mother while Shadow would protect Sally, Rouge and Knuckles. 

“Go on blue, we have him. I will not let him out of my sight” Rouge gestured for the cobalt hero to make a move on as the sky above them lit up. Just as a vehicle of some sort floated beside them before cloaking itself.

Sonic could do nothing but nod as he kissed Shadow’s lips deeply before he zipped over to the other side, just as a portal opened and Kaiser appeared. The cobra appeared in the middle of the bridge, he was a few minutes early. 

“Queen Alena, Princess Sally. This is an honour” Kaiser being the respective lord that he was, he bowed in both their directions as he addressed the royals including the triplets. Sonic only remained looking bored while Shadow was unimpressed. 

“Tell me, Shadow. Do you have a plan once you come face to face with your mother again?” Kaiser turned his attention from the royals over to the ultimate lifeform who only raised an eyebrow. 

“Enough, please choose a side that you wish to start on. Sunset is in mere minutes” Sally spoke up in her calming commanding tone. Kaiser could only nod as he took the side of Sally’s, “Might as well stick with my own kind” Kaiser stated looking straight at Shadow who only rolled his eyes. Rouge couldn’t help but move closer to her best-friend almost brother with the way the two acted as Kaiser only laughed at them. 

Footsteps from behind Sonic had the hero turning to see a cloaked individual beside Mighty, the armadillo nodded at him while catching his own breath. One thing Mighty hated more than anything was violence and sadly now his partner was going to have to battle for the kingdom he had a terrible history with.

“Ah, you must be my opponent, do show your weapon” Kaiser held his head up high as he took a stance. 

Ducking his head, Espio removed his cloak and threw the star at the ground, it bounced until it landed back in the palm of Kaiser who smirked at the star only to look up and gasp at his opponent. 

“Espio!” 

“It has been too long, Kaiser” 

“I asked for one of the symbol, last I checked you left the clan” 

“When the challenge was requested, the clan remained high in the stars as requested. A request for a warrior with the use of the blade has been received. So, let’s not go against the laws of the star clan” Espio spoke in a calming tone, he ignored the eyes of the freedom fighters as he took a stance. Mighty smirked from behind Manic who clenched his fists tightly to his sides. Espio’s history was much darker with the royal hedgehogs and there were many reasons why he stayed away. Some more important than others. 

“Rules: If Kaiser wins, a choice of an individual is taken with Kaiser while if Espio wins, Kaiser’s army seizes from attacking and the mistress takes over” Queen Alena spoke up in a command tone. 

“This is witnessed between two kingdoms, the Acorn Kingdom and the high kingdom of Mobius. The battle will commence in three…two…” 

“WAIT! I want to watch it!” Another voice had all attention turning to Eclipse, the alien smirking beside the black arms starfish. Shadow winced, putting his body in the way of Sally who moved closer to the ultimate lifeform. Several guards from each kingdom appeared protecting their royals as the black arms creatures appeared.
