Chapter 24

Scoups has been running for a long time already, trying to find his ex-best friend. He has heard his voice, he has heard the threats, but Scoups can't find him and it frustrates him to the core. He has to admit that he was quite shocked when he heard the voice, but now Scoups is sure, his best friend is a part of Stray kids. It disgusts him, but scares him at the same time. If his best friend is truly against him with all the anger, Scoups and his team are in real danger. Scoups stops, panting. He realizes that it won't matter how long he's running because it seems like he doesn't move at all. He takes a deep breath, but it feels like he's inhaling toxic gasses. His whole body is tingley and Scoups doesn't recognize the places that he's at. The black-haired male doesn't know how long he's been in here but he hopes to come out of it soon. Tired, Scoups lays down and the sand feels hot against his skin. At least something that's normal in here. He closes his eyes, but regrets it right after because flashbacks are coming back in his mind. Scoups wants to open his eyes again, but it's like he's living those moments again. He's driving in a car peacefully, singing a song with someone else. He's happy, it's a sunny day and he has good company. Until suddenly the car crashes brutally and everything is turning around. The glass is shattered and pieces fly past Scoups, only missing him and inch. He tries to scream, but no single sound is coming out of his mouth. The flashback changes into another one of him laying down in a hospital bed. He can see himself, it's like he's watching himself from up above. His heartbeat is going steady and his body is tangled in tubes. Scoups' heart skips a beat when he sees Dino sitting down next to him, holding his hand.
"Dino!" he shouts, hoping the brunette would hear him.
"Dino!" he yells again, louder this time. Scoups yells and yells and yells, but the brunette can't hear him. Suddenly, the world around Scoups changes again and he's in a dark space with Chan. He stares at the male with tears in his eyes, how could their friendship go this wrong?
"You were so lucky, you know that?" Chan asks, his look is angrier than Scoups has ever seen.
"You were so damn lucky, ofcourse you were the one to survive instead of them." Scoups wants to walk over to Chan, but he isn't able to move.
"I'm not lucky", Scoups mumbles and Chan scoffs.
"How aren't you lucky? That accident should've killed you like it killed them. You killed them and you survived. How are you not lucky?" Anger is rising in Scoups' veins while he stares into Chan's eyes.
"How can I be lucky when I have no one left to share that luck with?" he growls and to his surprise, Chan suddenly disappeares. Broken and angry, Scoups faces the darkness and yells at the top of his lungs, almost breaking his voice.
"HOW CAN I BE LUCKY WHEN I HAVE NO ONE LEFT TO SHARE IT WITH!?" the words echo through the room while the black-haired leader breaks down sobbing. He killed them, he really killed them.

Wonwoo is pretty happy today, everything just feels allright and the sun is shining, so the black-haired male with glasses doesn't have anything to complain about today. He wishes that Scoups would be able to enjoy this day too, but their leader is still fighting for his life.
"Oh, here you are", a tall, black-haired male laughs. Wonwoo smiles at Mingyu and looks back at the view. Mingyu seats himself next to him in the grass and takes a deep breath in.
"How I love days like this", he says satisfied.
"Hm", Wonwoo agrees. The two males are sitting in a little garden next to the apartment. The real owner of the garden isn't using it so the males have decided that this is their little property from now on. It's nice to enjoy the sun with your friends, Wonwoo certainly enjoys these kind of moments. Mingyu and him also started fighting again since two days ago, so the black-haired males are glad they can sit together in peace for a while.
"Did Minghao sent you outside too?" Mingyu asks suddenly.
"No, I just went by myself", Wonwoo chuckles.
"That's unfair", Mingyu whines while he pulls a blade of grass out of the ground.
"Why did he even do that?" Wonwoo asks curiously. Mingyu stares at him dissapointed, but still answers.
"I was annoying", he mumbles. Wonwoo looks at the tall male in surprise.
"You're joking", he laughs.
"Do you see me laughing?" Mingyu whines, "He acts like I'm a toddler." Wonwoo starts laughing even more and Mingyu teasingly slaps him on the arm.
"Auch, I deserved that", Wonwoo laughs, "I still can't believe that he finds you annoying." Mingyu shrugs and sighs.
"It's Minghao, who isn't annoying to him?" he asks to himself.
"You weren't", Wonwoo replies giggling. Mingyu gently pushes Wonwoo, which causes the male with glasses to fall on the grass.
"Not funny", he states and Wonwoo's laughter dies down. The two males enjoy a moment of silence while the sun is warming up their bodies. After a brief moment of silence, Wonwoo finally speaks up.
"Scoups would've enjoyed this too", he says sad. Mingyu nods in agreement.
"Yeah, I miss him." The tall male is always very emotional when it comes to people he cares about and Wonwoo thinks he might have brought up the wrong subject.
"It's not like he's dead", Wonwoo tries to cheer him up, but Mingyu only gives him a sad look.
"Do you want to go and visit him with me?" Mingyu suddenly asks.
"Scoups?" Wonwoo asks.
"Who else?" Mingyu snaps back annoyed. Wonwoo bites on his tongue trying not to make a rude comment, he doesn't like the fact that Mingyu is already triggered.
"Sorry," Wonwoo apologies, "And I think I'll pass for today." Mingyu looks at the male with glasses shocked and Wonwoo looks back confused.
"Why not?" Mingyu's voice sounds like it's on the verge of anger.
"Because I already went yesterday", Wonwoo calmly explains. Mingyu opens his mouth, but keeps his words inside. His eyes have a furious look that scares Wonwoo a bit.
"You went to Dino yesterday to pick him up", Mingyu growls and Wonwoo blinks to see if this is really happening or not. Did their nice little moment just make a 180 degrees turn in just a few seconds?
"Yes, but I also visited Scoups. It's possible to visit two people in a hospital, Mingyu", Wonwoo reasons with him.
"Don't you care about our leader at all!?" Mingyu scoffs and he stands up to walk back inside. This time, Wonwoo is quick to follow him.
"What do you mean? Ofcourse I care about him!" Wonwoo yells while he runs after his tall friend. The male with glasses notices that Mingyu clenches his fists while he enters their apartment.
"You don't care about him." Wonwoo stares at Mingyu shocked. Did he really just say that?
"Excuse me?" Wonwoo says hurt.
"Caring about him means worrying about him every single day. It means visiting him whenever you can, it means going to sleep thinking about what you would do if he wakes up. Caring about Scoups means not to go with Dino behind his back", Mingyu snaps and he points with his finger at Wonwoo.
"So that's your problem, Dino, huh?" Wonwoo asks triggered. He can't have the fact that his friend is accusing him not to care about his leader.
"That brunette has got all your attention since Woozi died. I have never seen you cry or even be sad whenever something happened. But how could I, you are always hanging out with Dino. Dino, Dino, Dino. What about our team? What about your roommates? What about the people who fucking died because of you!?" Mingyu is now yelling at Wonwoo and the black-haired male with glasses is sure that one of their roommates will show up sooner or later.
"Are we there again? You were drunk right? You didn't mean it, right? But now you're here, accusing me again! Don't you think that I pity myself enough to know that it's my fault!?" Wonwoo yells back. Tears are coming up his eyes and Mingyu doesn't even seem to have noticed it. Anger makes him blind, apparently.
"You can always talk yourself out of everything because you're so smart, but guess what, I-"
"That's enough!" Minghao yells. The blue-haired male is furious seeing the two males fight once again. Mingyu seems to finally realize what is happening and he grunts silently.
"I've had enough of you guys, always fighting! We are in serious danger, Scoups is litterally fighting for his life and you guys are almost killing each other! Why? I have no fucking clue!" DK comes out of his room as well and it looks like he has heard everything because he can easily join the conversation.
"I thought you were friends, almost inseparable", DK says softly. It's clear that he too is sick of it all.
"I thought so too", Mingyu scoffs.
"Seriously!?" Wonwoo asks hurt and Minghao raises his hand.
"Stop it! This can't go on any further", he says tired.
"I agree", Mingyu says. Wonwoo bites his lip softly before moving towards his room.
"What are you doing?" DK asks confused.
"I'm leaving", Wonwoo answers and his three roommates gasp. Even Mingyu didn't expect it.
"You can't just leave", Minghao states shocked.
"Yes I can, you said it yourself, we can't go on like this. Mingyu and I are clearly incapable of living under the same room, so I have decided to move out", Wonwoo says and his three roommates stare at him surprised, but none of them is trying to stop him. With tears in his eyes, Wonwoo leaves and shuts the door behind him with bags in his hands.

"You're a hero", Dino says relieved while he steps into Wonwoo's car. The black-haired male with glasses is looking a bit sad today, but Dino decides not to ask about it. He just dropped off his parents at the airport, they have decided that it would be better if they just returned back to Korea.
"That stupid taxi never showed up", Dino complains while Wonwoo starts driving. Wonwoo only gives a short nod in response and Dino is starting to get worried.
"Are you allright?" he asks concerned.
"I'm perfectly fine, I am going to live with my best friend", Wonwoo states calmly.
"What?" Dino chuckles confused.
"Yeah, I'm moving in with you whether you like it or not." Dino is quite surprised with Wonwoo's response and he's silent for a while.
"Okay, I guess. Scoups isn't coming back soon anyway. But why did you move out in the first place?" Dino asks carefully.
"I just couldn't hold it back there. Mingyu and I, we were a mess", Wonwoo answers sad while he focuses on the road. Dino promises to himself to do everything he can to cheer his best friend up.

Mingyu is angry and upset, he didn't expect Wonwoo to actually leave. He looks at Minghao and DK in shock, they all don't know what to do right now.
"What the fuck was that?" DK asks.
"Are you happy now? He's gone!" Minghao yells.
"It was never my intention to make him leave!" Mingyu defends himself.
"Well you were terrible in showing that!" Minghao snaps. Mingyu wants to yell something back, but a moving object catches his attention. Mingyu runs over to the window and sees a black minivan drive away from the building. A dull, silent, ticking sound is echoing through the walls. Mingyu wants to yell at his roommates to get down, but it's already too late. A loud explosion turns the whole building to rubble with the people still inside it.
