Chapter 43

Dino stares at Minho in shock. To be honest, the brunette thought that his neighbor has moved away since the whole bridge event, but apparently, Minho is not done yet. Normally, Dino would be scared, but this time, he's calm. Glancing over at Scoups, Dino notices the black-haired leader staring at the two in shock. He knows that Scoups is scared to lose Dino, but maybe that's just how it has to be. Maybe Dino has to die in order to end it all. Joshua was right all along, it's all Dino's fault.
"Why are you even waiting?" Dino asks and Minho raises a brow startled.
"Where's that little guy who was scared the second he saw a weapon?" the purple-haired male asks confused.
"That guy died a few days ago. He died watching all of this, living it. And maybe it's better if he died, maybe he had to die. So just kill me too", Dino says firmly and he clenches his fists. He's done being the scared guy that causes trouble everywhere. He's going to take his consequences with pride. Minho clicks his tongue impressed while cops are arriving to the scene.
"Put the gun down!" one of them shouts while they all aim their guns at Minho. Dino smiles, this is even better. If Minho shoots, the cops will shoot as well and then both Dino and Minho will die, causing Scoups and his group to be safe again. But something inside of Minho seems to change.
"You know, I admire you. You're stronger than you think, Dino", Minho whispers and Dino throws him a confused look. But before the brunette can even process it, Minho moves his gun and shoots a cop down, causing every other cop to fire. At least ten bullets rush through Minho's body while Dino watches it happen in both shock and disgust. His neighbor's body jerks one last time before it falls to the ground lifeless. This is surely something the brunette didn't expect at all. And weirdly, he feels sad about it. He didn't want Minho to die, heck he didn't want anyone to die. And still, they all did. Scoups rushes out of his car and hugs Dino tight while the cops run over to their teammate who got shot.
"I was so scared to lose you", Scoups whispers and Dino smiles in Scoups' arms.
"Weirdly, I wasn't scared at all", Dino admits and Scoups chuckles.
"That's because you're a badass", Scoups says and Dino laughs shortly. When Scoups pulls away, he grabs Dino's shoulders and looks the brunette in the eyes. Something changed in the leader's eyes.
"Remember that I love you and that you will be absolutely fine", Scoups says and Dino looks at him confused.
"What?" Dino asks while a cop is walking towards them. Scoups glances at the cop and nods quickly.
"Scoups, what is happening?" Dino asks confused while he watches the black-haired male show his wrists at the cop, who cuffs them right after. Is Scoups getting arrested?
"I'm still a murderer, Dino", Scoups explains, but Dino shakes his head in denial.
"You can't just give up!" Dino yells and tears are forming in his eyes.
"I can't run away forever either", Scoups reasons with the brunette, but Dino isn't having it.
"We could've worked something out! You can't just leave us in the dust!" Dino yells and he grabs Scoups' hand. The brunette stares into his leader's eyes, trying to find something, but it's like a whole other person is inside of his friend right now. Only now Dino realizes how much Chan's death affected Scoups.
"It's over, Dino. You don't need me anymore", Scoups whispers and angry, Dino lets Scoups' hand go.
"That's bullshit! We will always need you! I will always need you! You can't just leave us like this! That's unfair!" Dino yells while he keeps hitting Scoups' chest with his fists. The cop wants to stop Dino, but Scoups signs at him to let the brunette be.
"Dino, I-" Scoups mumbles, but the brunette cuts him off.
"No! Shut up! If you're a coward, then I don't want to see you! Just leave already!" Dino yells and the brunette sees Scoups' eyes darken with sadness. Good, Dino thinks, let him regret his actions. But how mad Dino is right now, he knows that he's going to miss the black-haired male more than anything.
"Just visit me, sometimes", Scoups whispers sad while he gets dragged away by the cop.
"I can't make any promises, you fucking coward!" Dino yells while a tear is rolling down his cheek. It hurts like hell to see his friend like that. Scoups has hurt Dino a lot in so many ways, but this one is definitely the most painful one. Scoups will be gone for some years and who will be there to wait for him? Does Scoups realize what this means for the team? Once again, they lost their leader. They're not even sure if they will still be there when Scoups returns. And ofcourse, Dino is going to be the one who has to spread the news. He's going to be the one who will see all the reactions, who will collect every little bit of anger that escapes his teammates. Dino is going to be the one who has to make up for Scoups' mistake. And the brunette knows that Scoups had to kill Hyunjin to save Dino, but the brunette really believed that they were going to get away with it. Maybe Scoups has already gone to jail for the death of his parents, but the black-haired male would've told Dino, right?
