Chapter 28

Lost. That's the best word to describe how Wonwoo is feeling. He's lost. His thoughts are racing, but nothing is in there, so Wonwoo's mind just feels empty. Dino has been trying to cheer Wonwoo up and the black-haired male with glasses really appreciates it, but it doesn't help. All Wonwoo can think about is his roommates. Which one of them survived, if he even survived at all, and where would he be? And the other two, it hurts Wonwoo to know that he will never get the chance to make it up to them. He left them in a fight and Wonwoo can only feel guilty that they have died knowing that he left them. Dino has told him at least a thousand times that it isn't Wonwoo's fault and he knows that, but it still feels wrong. And the worst part about all of this is that Wonwoo will never be able to fix it. Lost in thought, Wonwoo doesn't notice a particular red-haired male is standing beside him. He almost falls off of the couch when he feels a hand touch his shoulder. Jeonghan only laughs before seating himself next to him.
"Damn, you scared the fuck out of me", Wonwoo pants. His heart is racing and Jeonghan is not helping at all because he's too busy laughing.
"I know", Jeonghan laughs, "It's hilarious." Wonwoo rolls his eyes and a sudden realization hits the black-haired male with glasses.
"What are you even doing here? And how did you get in?" Wonwoo asks confused. Jeonghan finally stopped laughing and he brushes a red lock of hair out of his face before answering.
"Dino asked me to come as soon as I could, but when I knocked on the door, no one answered. So a kind purple-haired male let me in." Wonwoo's eyes widen with both confusion and surprise.
"Did Dino ask you to come? Why?" he asks.
"I have no clue." Wonwoo chuckles and informs Jeonghan about the fact that the purple-haired male is in fact Dino's neighbor.
"Oh, was he the one who was there at the diner?" Jeonghan asks surprised. Wonwoo nods sad, he knows that the diner went wrong in all different kind of ways. Wonwoo can only think about Mingyu, although Hoshi is the one who died, the black-haired male had a massive fight with the taller at that time. Would Mingyu even be still alive? Wonwoo can't think about that too much right now, or he'll cry again. The conversation gets interrupted by a brunette entering through the door, he's struggling not to drop one of the many things he's holding. Wonwoo notices Jeonghan getting up immediately to help Dino out with all the food he has bought and the black-haired male can only think about the fact that Scoups would've done the exact same thing. Jeonghan and their leader are way more alike than everyone thinks they are.
"Thanks", Dino mumbles when everything is stored safely, "I'm glad you came over this fast." Jeonghan smiles and the two males seat themselves next to Wonwoo on the couch. Dino glances at him worried before turning his head to Jeonghan. Wonwoo hopes that the brunette has a good reason to call them over, he hopes that there's something they can do to clear his mind.
"I have some important news", Dino states and the two males look at the brunette expectedly. He clears his throat and continues with a lower voice.
"I think that I know who the spy is", Dino whispers and both Wonwoo and Jeonghan widen their eyes in disbelief.
"What?" Jeonghan says shocked.
"Who is it?" Wonwoo asks triggered. If he can make it up to his roommates by killing the spy, he deffinetly will.
"Wait, is it someone from our group? Is that why you only called us over?" Jeonghan asks nervously. Wonwoo is startled too by the sudden thought of a friend betraying him. Dino quickly shakes his head in denial.
"No, no one of our group is the spy. I called you over because Wonwoo lives here and Jeonghan you are the leader since Scoups..." Dino's sentence dies down while talking about the particular black-haired male. Wonwoo knows that those two have a special bond between them and Dino still finds it hard to talk about Scoups as if he's dead. Jeonghan nods understanding.
"But who is it then?" Wonwoo asks impatient. Dino takes a deep breath in and places his hands on his lap.
"It's Minho", Dino blurs out and both males gasp in disbelief.
"Your neighbor?" Wonwoo asks shocked.
"He litterally just let me in!" Jeonghan adds. Dino looks at the red-haired male confused.
"He did?" the brunette seems confused by that, as if he can't imagine Minho opening a door for someone else.
"Yeah, what's wrong with that?" Jeonghan asks unbothered.
"I never gave him my keys", Dino mumbles and Wonwoo starts to get why this is all confusing to the brunette.
"Shit", the black-haired male with glasses mumbles.
"That's creepy", Jeonghan admits and Dino nods in agreement.
"But why do you think that he's the spy? And why do you need us?" Wonwoo asks curious. Although the whole Minho-has-Dino's-key-thing is really creepy, they still have some work to do. The spy is going to pay for what he did.
"I shot the spy when Scoups-, you know." Jeonghan and Wonwoo listen carefully and encourage Dino to keep talking.
"A few days ago, he visited me. When I touched his arm, he flinched and there was a bandaid right at the place where I shot the spy. He asserts that he had an accident in his kitchen", Dino says and Wonwoo understands why his neighbor is pretty sus.
"I went over to him yesterday, but I had too little time to find any evidence. So I want to try again this evening, Minho has a dinner with some friends apparently. I want you guys to keep an eye out while I search through Minho's stuff." Wonwoo looks at Jeonghan to see what the recent leader is thinking about. The red-haired male nods his head slowly and has a thoughtful look in his eyes.
"I think that is a valid plan", Wonwoo says, hoping that Jeonghan will help too.
"Let's catch a spy", the red-haired male says grinning and Dino smiles in relief. Wonwoo is glad that they finally can do something good.
"Do you guys want something to drink while we wait?" Dino suggests and Wonwoo can't resist an offer like that.
"A coffee is fine", the black-haired male with glasses says.
"Make that two coffees", Jeonghan adds and Dino smiles while he walks over to the kitchen.

Dino is pretty stressed that evening. He knows that Jeonghan is right outside keeping an eye on them and that Wonwoo is right behind him, but things like this always freak Dino out.
"So I'll stand in the hallway while you enter, okay?" Wonwoo whispers and Dino nods. He can do this, he has to. With Scoups in his mind, Dino takes out a little card and let's it slide between the door and the doorframe. Soon enough, the wood gives in and the door clicks open with a dull sound. Smiling, the brunette enters Minho's apartment while Wonwoo stays in the hallway to keep watch. Dino flicks on his flashlight, if Minho would return, he can't see that there is light in his room. The closet he had searched through yesterday is still the same as before, closed doors and cabinets. Just to check, Dino opens it slowly and to his relief, nothing has changed. Dino walks over to the other closet and starts searching through his neighbor's stuff. Sadly enough, the only thing Dino can find are clothes and everyday objects. Frustrated, Dino let's his flashlight fall inside a cabinet. The brunette is triggered immediately when he hears the dull sound. This means that there is a space beneath these things. Dino soon finds the right things to force it open and the brunette reveals a secret, tiny place where there is enough evidence for Dino's suspicions. A mask, a gun and even that stupid chain Hyunjin had chocked the brunette with. Dino quickly grabs his phone and takes a picture, which he sends to Jeonghan right after. Dino has always suspected it, but truly seeing that Minho is in fact the spy makes Dino want to throw up. Minho is the reason Woozi and Hoshi died, Minho is the reason Scoups is in a coma and Minho is the person who Dino trusted. The brunette hates himself for being so open with the purple-haired male and puts his phone away frustrated. Wonwoo still hasn't given a sign, which means that everything is still safe. Dino wants to take the stuff out of the tiny room, but a dull click catches his attention. Slowly, Dino turns around and faces his own neighbor standing next to him with a gun aimed at the brunette. Anger is rising up inside his body and Dino clenches his fists.
"How could you, I trusted you!" Dino shouts. Minho only grins before he answers.
"You did make it easy for me and Stray kids I have to admit." Dino wants to scratch that stupid smile off of his neighbor's face, but the gun is holding him back.
"How did you even-?" Dino is still confused how Minho could've known that Dino was planning this and how he could get past Wonwoo.
"Maybe next time you search through my stuff, try to keep everything in place", the purple-haired male answers and Dino wants to slap himself for being this stupid.
"I let you believe that I was gone, while I was actually just inside this apartment the whole time. Aren't I smart?" Minho smirks and Dino has to bite his tongue in order not to make a nasty comment.
"What do you want?" Dino asks angry.
"I don't want anything," Minho says to Dino's surprise, "but my friend does. He wants revenge." Minho's calmness is making Dino go crazy.
"So you do all the dirty work?" Dino scoffs. Minho laughs and his gun lowers by an inch.
"Oh, you naive child. He is the one doing all the dirty jobs. I'm the one who delivers you to him." Dino suddenly is scared that he may get kidnapped again, and that this time, Scoups won't be there to rescue him.
"Why don't you just kill me?" Dino yells, letting his feelings speak for the first time in a while. He feels the sudden urge to end this madness, to end it all.
"Because that's way less fun", a deep voice states. Dino shivers when he recognizes the voice from his dream and from his kidnapping. The third guy comes from the hallway and Dino can finally see his face. His blonde locks, his freckles, the anger in his eyes, Dino takes it all in. And then he sees a boy with glasses standing next to him, a gun aimed at his head. Dino finally realizes where he knew Wonwoo from, it was him in that dream all along. And if Dino's dream is about to happen, they are doomed. Minho escorts Dino towards the third guy, who's making sure that Wonwoo goes with him too, and maybe for the first time in his life, Dino feels peace with what's about to happen.

A male is running through the woods. He has been wandering in the nature for a few days and he notices that he's getting skinnier, probably because he hasn't eaten much. He remembers some things from what happened, but his memory is not clear yet on that subject. He remembers Wonwoo leaving, he remembers the pain he felt when he saw the male with glasses actually leave and he remembers the explosion right after. He has no clue whether his other two roommates have survived, but he has to hold on. To the male's surprise, he finally sees something he recognizes. Dino's apartment stands in front of him and the male walks to the front door, although his body is hurting as hell. He suddenly spots a familiar red-haired male staring to one of the windows, but it doesn't bother the male. With tears in his eyes, he stumbles over to his friend.
"Jeonghan", he whispers happy, catching the older's attention. Jeonghan looks at him in surprise and he too has tears in his eyes.
"Oh my god, you're alive", Jeonghan says, his voice trembling from relief. He hugs the male and whispers in his ear.
"Come on, let's get you home. Dino and Wonwoo can handle it on their own."
