Chapter 31

Dino and Mingyu walk into the room togheter. Dino isn't really comfortable going alone anymore because he told Scoups about Jeonghan's death yesterday and he didn't really react well. The black-haired male had been holding back tears and Dino didn't know what to do. Eventually, Scoups made sure that Dino understood that he wasn't mad at him, but still, Dino feels guilty. He was the only one who could save the red-haired male and he failed. So Dino let Scoups down once again. The fact that they haven't told their leader about DK's and Minghao's death is eating Dino up inside, but he has no other choice. If they want to convince Scoups not to go to jail, they have to keep lying.
"I'm going to do something first," Dino informs Mingyu, "you don't have to wait for me, I'll come to you later." Mingyu nods and makes his way towards room 666, while Dino walks trough the hallways. The brunette can't help it, but he keeps worrying about those cops. When will they take Scoups? Dino has to know, he has to break the leader free before the cops are here, no matter what Scoups says, Dino will make sure that his friend does not land in jail.
"Excuse me, ma'am?" Dino asks a nurse. She looks up confused and Dino quickly reads her name batch before continuing.
"Hi, Karen," Dino continues, "I wanted to ask you something." the nurse looks at Dino as if she wants him to go on.
"Do you know when the patient on room 666 will be released from the hospital?" the brunette looks at Karen hopeful while she looks up to think.
"Well," she says, her voice sounds soft as honey, "I don't know yet. He is still pretty unstable." Dino didn't expect that answer, what does she mean he's still unstable?
"He can still have severe pain at some moments. But the problem is that we don't know exactly when, it's pretty unpredictable. That's why we give him this much medication." Dino let's the nurse's words sink in before he smiles at her thankful.
"Thank you", the brunette says before turning around. Right when Dino is around the corner, he hears a voice behind him.
"We have to, he's awake now." Dino realizes that it's a nurse talking, so he decides to eavesdrop.
"But he's unstable! They won't have any medication there!" Karen's voice yells. The other nurse sighs and Dino guesses that she shrugs.
"I know, but we don't have another choice. They will be here when visiting time is over." Dino looks at his phone and realizes that visiting time ends in a few minutes. The brunette finally starts to understand what they're talking about. The police will pick Scoups up today.
"Shit", he mumbles while he runs over to Scoups' room. When he enters, Mingyu is sitting on a chair, reading a book. Scoups is sleeping and Dino sees the bag with medication hang above the black-haired male. A little tube connects the bag with Scoups' body through his hand. Mingyu looks up to the brunette, who almost forgot why he rushed over here.
"We have to take him with us, immediately." Mingyu stares at Dino confused while the brunette already tries to get the cuff to open.
"What do you mean? What are you doing?" the taller male asks confused and Dino tries to explain as fast as he can.
"The police are coming to pick Scoups up. They can't have him, Mingyu, we need him." The taller male seems to understand and he takes out a little metal thing. Mingyu gently pushes Dino aside and in a second, the cuff is open. Impressed, Dino stares at Mingyu, who's proudly looking back.
"That was cool", Dino admits and he rushes over to Scoups right after. Without thinking, the brunette pulls the tube out of Scoups' hand roughly before turning around towards Mingyu again.
"Can you drag him to the car?" Dino asks, suddenly pretty desperate. He knows that the time is ticking. Mingyu nods and places his arms underneath their leader's body before lifting him up. Scoups grunts softly and opens his eyes. The beautiful, black orbs are dull and Dino realizes that it's from the medication, it makes Scoups sleepy.
"What are you-", the leader can say before he grunts again. Dino gently brushes some hair out of Scoups' forehead before answering.
"It's okay, we got you." Tired, Scoups let's his head fall down against Mingyu's chest and it looks like their leader has turned into a cute, little baby. Dino quickly shakes his head, no time to think about that right now.
"Can you run?" Dino asks Mingyu and the taller looks at him offended.
"Ofcourse I can, I'm not a grandpa." Dino sighs relieved and quickly checks the hallways. Luckily, they're empty and Dino rushes out, Mingyu following him. Dino doesn't think about anything right now, he only thinks about the entrance they have to reach. It's only a few meters away and the brunette suddenly stops, causing Mingyu to softly bump into him. Scoups grunts softly again and Dino's heart sinks, how can their leader be so vulnerable? He surely looked better without that stupid medication.
"What are you doing?" Mingyu asks nervously. Dino subtly points towards the entrance where a lot of people are walking in and out. Mingyu starts to understand what Dino is saying and slowly nods his head.
"How are we going to fix this?" The taller asks. Dino thinks about it for a moment, and scans the room. After a while, he finally has found something, Dino turns around with a mischievous smile.
"Just follow me, but closely." Mingyu stares at the brunette in confusion, but he follows Dino's orders. He grabs some fake wings from the ground which a child has left behind, and luckily, they are just big enough to cover Scoups' body. Dino puts the wings on his back and now it looks like Mingyu is supporting Dino's wings. The taller male clearly finds it embarrassing, but he goes with the flow. Dino didn't expect this to work, but it does because they make it out of the hospital without any problems. It's dark outside and Dino quickly throws the fake wings into the nearest container. Carefull, the two males walk over to Mingyu's car and Dino let's out a relieved sigh when they arrive safely.
"We just kidnapped someone from a hospital", Mingyu says in disbelief and the two males start laughing because the idea just sounds so incredibly stupid.
"Let's get him in the car", Dino says and it surprises him that Scoups is still sleeping. Dino seats himself in the backseat first before Mingyu places Scoups on the backseat as well, with the leader's head on Dino's lap. While Mingyu gets in the driver's seat, Dino stares at Scoups' face. The black-haired male is sleeping peacefully while Dino gently runs his finger over his cheek.
"What do we do now?" Mingyu asks, pulling Dino out of his thoughts.
"There's only one place to go", the brunette answers. While people in the hospital are screaming and running, trying to find their lost patient, their car dissappears into the darkness.

Joshua is staring at the wall, he can't live here anymore. Now he finally gets why Scoups had decided to move in with Dino after Hoshi's death. It's too torturous to live in a place where you have so many memories of the person you lost. With sadness, Joshua thinks back about the good old times before Dino came along. They were happy, stressed as well, he has to admit, but they were all alive. They were being hunt down by Stray kids, but nothing serious happened. But ever since Dino came along, things have changed. Scoups got distracted, a spy has all their information and people are dead. Way too much people. Joshua clenches his fists, Stray kids isn't the problem, Dino is. Without Dino, Stray kids stays low, they don't do anything. But when the brunette is around, they change into killing maniacs who destroy everything in their path. Joshua hates it and the black-haired male is starting to doubt if keeping Dino in the group is still a good solution. Suddenly, someone knocks on the door and Joshua stands up confused. Who would want to visit him this late? He opens the door and reveals a panting Mingyu with a grunting Scoups inside his arms and, unfortunately, a panicking Dino by his side. Joshua would've been mad if it wasn't for Scoups catching his attention. The male has his eyes shut, but the grunts show that he's in severe pain. Shouldn't he be at the hospital?
"What are you doing here? And what happened?" Joshua asks shocked while he let's the males inside.
"We were visiting him when Dino decided to kidnap him", Mingyu explains while he gently places Scoups down on the couch. The leader is already sweating, this can't be healthy. But all Joshua can feel is anger: it's Dino who's fucking it up again.
"And why the hell was that a good idea?" Joshua snaps.
"The cops were going to take him to jail!" Dino defends himself.
"But that's not the point right now," Mingyu interrupts while he glances at Scoups worried, "while we were driving, Scoups started to grunt and sweat, we suspect that he is in pain." Joshua nods and Dino stares at him desperate.
"Can you help us? The cops are looking for him so we can't go back to the hospital. But if he keeps having this pain he might die!" the brunette sounds desperate, annoyingly desperate. It's his fault that Scoups is in so much pain right now. For a moment, Joshua hesitates. He could let Dino suffer and make it up for Jeonghan. If Joshua loses his soulmate thanks to Dino, then Dino loses his soulmate thanks to Joshua. But looking at Scoups who's clearly suffering, Joshua realizes that he can't. Scoups is his leader, Scoups always took care of him and Scoups is the only one who loved Jeonghan as much as Joshua did. Scoups even looks like him sometimes. Hell, why would Joshua let the only part of this world that reminds him of Jeonghan die?
"I might have something", Joshua says and he walks over to the kitchen to grab some painkillers. It won't help the wounds or the cause, but it will make Scoups suffer less. The poor leader even started shaking. Joshua takes a pill and gently puts it into Scoups' mouth, which isn't easy when the leader is shivering so much.
"Water", Joshua commands and Mingyu runs over to the kitchen to get a glass of water. When Mingyu is back, Joshua is finally able to get the capsule inside of Scoups' mouth. The black-haired male grabs the water from the taller and pours it into his leader's mouth, making him swallow it. For a while, the three males look at their leader worried, but after a few minutes, Scoups' body relaxes again and the leader falls asleep.
"That's why he needed to stay in the hospital", Joshua snaps and he gives Dino a deadly look. The brunette only lifts his hands in defense.
"The cops wouldn't have given him medicines either, so he's better off with us." Joshua sighs, the brunette is right.
"How are we going to organize who lives where?" Mingyu asks a bit embarrassed, "Because my house burned down and I don't think that it's smart for Dino to keep living next to the enemy." Joshua nods in agreement, he hasn't thought about it yet, but the taller has a point.
"I don't want to live here either, it's torture for me", he says sad and both Mingyu and Dino look at him with pity.
"Maybe Scoups and I can live here," Dino suggests, "and you three can go live at Scoups' house." At first, Joshua hates the idea, he doesn't want Dino to suddenly live in his house, but the brunette is right. That's the best option.
"Fine by me, I'll inform Wonwoo", Mingyu says and he goes outside to call his roommate. Joshua shrugs and goes to his room to pack some stuff, he has to make sure that all his precious things are with him. When he's done, he walks in the living room again where Dino is staring at Scoups. Joshua hopes that he makes the right decision to leave his leader with the brunette. When Dino notices Joshua, he stands up and walks over to him.
"I promise that I will take good care of both Scoups and your apartment", the brunette says happily. Easy for him to say. Joshua looks at him without saying a word. After a few minutes of silence, he finally speaks up.
"Just make sure that you don't break anything, you've already broken enough." With those words, Joshua walks away and closes the door behind him, leaving his apartment behind forgood.
