Chapter 40

Chan grins and Scoups has trouble keeping his eyes open. His leg is hurting like hell and he knows that Chan can shoot him down any minute. But to Scoups' surprise, his old friend throws his gun away. Scoups' gun is laying on the street a few feet away, too far for him to reach. Sighing, Scoups looks down. He tries to be steady on his feet, but Chan pushes him out of balance.
"This is what you wanted, right?" Chan asks grinning. Scoups can't even answer, he's suddenly tired and full of pain. Chan scoffs and punches Scoups right on his face.
"That's for my girlfriend", Chan spits while Scoups coughs in pain.
"And that's for my parents", Chan grits while he punches Scoups again. A little bit of blood runs down his nose, but Scoups is too tired to wipe it away.
"And this", Chan says while he punches Scoups again, "is for Seungmin." Before Scoups can even react, Chan kicks him hard and the leader falls to the ground, his body aching like hell. His lip is also bleeding and he has almost no strength left, but Chan doesn't care about that at all.
"You think that you're a hero," Chan scoffs, "but you're just a monster." Another kick makes Scoups' body jerk and the black-haired male clenches his fists. He can't let this happen, he has to do something. Scoups gets his strength together and tries to get up, but Chan kicks him down again. Scoups coughs and a few droplets of blood leave his mouth. Chan wraps his hands around Scoups' troath smirking and he slowly pushes down, which causes Scoups to stop breathing because he doesn't get any air. Gasping, Scoups tries to get Chan's hand off of him, but his old friend doesn't let go. Just at the moment Scoups is going to faint, Chan gets pulled off of the leader with such force that he ends up a few feet away from Scoups. Coughing, he looks up to see Joshua standing over him concerned.
"Are you okay?" Joshua asks worried and Scoups nods exhausted. Suddenly, his teammate hits him as well and Scoups flinches in pain.
"Don't you ever do that again", Joshua scoffs before he throws Scoups a relieved smile. Chan has gotten up in the meantime and soon, Joshua and the other leader get into a fight.

Dino arrives at Target and his mouth falls open when he sees what's happening.
"Wonwoo! They're here!" he yells and the black-haired male with glasses quickly stops the car. Dino slams the door open and storms out of the car, towards the fight that's happening. Scoups is laying down on the ground and a few feet further, Joshua and Chan are rolling on the ground. Dino rushes over to them and quickly grabs a gun on his way. Chan just pinned Joshua down on the ground and starts to strangle him, when Dino hits the male with a scream. The end of the gun hits Chan's head and the leader falls down on the ground unconscious. Joshua pants and smiles at Dino thankful. Dino offers him a hand and he pulls the black-haired male up.
"Are you okay?" The  brunette asks and Joshua nods.
"I'm fine, you were there at the right moment." Dino smiles and the two males stand next to each other in silence for a little while.
"Guys, come quickly!" Wonwoo yells and both Dino and Joshua hurry to Wonwoo who's kneeling down next to their leader.
"Hey, Scoups, stay with me! Come on, stay with me!" Wonwoo yells depseratly while he keeps slapping Scoups' cheek. Dino gasps when he notices that his friend is unconscious.
"Scoups!" he yells worried and Joshua kneels down beside the black-haired leader too. He places his fingers on Scoups' wrist and sighs relieved.
"He's just unconscious, he'll live. His heartbeat is steady and it looks like he's breathing", Joshua informs them and they all share a relieved sigh. Dino clenches his fists and walks over to Chan, kicks the leader right in the stomach and ties his wrists and ankles a bit later. This stupid man has already taken away way too many people, Dino will not let him take away another one.
"Stupid man, luckily, you're not Scoups' best friend anymore", Dino spits out, but ofcourse Chan doesn't respond because he's unconscious.
"Come on, let's move him to Seungmin's- I mean, our prison", Joshua says. Dino nods and they both grunt when they lift the body of their enemy and Mingyu, who just arrived, and Wonwoo lift Scoups' body. In the car, Dino whines shortly when Chan's head gets placed on his lap. The brunette scrunches his nose in disgust while Joshua starts the car. Scoups is in Wonwoo's car and Dino feels a bit empty inside. He only realizes now that he almost lost his leader.
"How did you know where Scoups was?" Dino asks softly after a short silence. Joshua chuckles and looks at Dino shortly.
"I thought like Scoups. Where would he go to if he wants to risk his life?" Joshua says and Dino raises a brow surprised.
"Woah, you know Scoups well then, don't you?" Dino asks. Joshua smiles and turns into a street.
"I know him for a while and I always pay attention to him. We were close, believe it or not." Dino smiles back when he suddenly screams in disgust.
"Eww!" Dino yells and Joshua blinks surprised.
"What is it?" Joshua asks concerned.
"Chan is drooling on my leg! Gross!" Dino whines and Joshua laughs.
"I guess that's karma for the fact that you knocked him out", Joshua laughs while he stops the car. Dino sighs while the two males drag the body out of the car and struggle to get it though the door.
"What in the world is this?" Vernon asks shocked when he notices the two males in the dance room.
"Long story," Dino explains, "can you help us?" Vernon nods and quickly helps them to place Chan down on the bed. With an aching pain through his heart, Dino sees Seungmin's sweater laying down on the ground. Tears coming up in his eyes, Dino wants to pick the sweater up, but Joshua is quick to stop him.
"Don't," he says quickly, "It will only make things worse." Dino looks at the sweater with desire, but turns around and leaves the room with a sad expression. There's nothing left to do for Seungmin, so maybe he should just let it go. So Dino closes the door behind him, leaving Chan behind with a memory of his old team. Knowing that he will hopefully never see them again.
