Chapter 6: Badnik Attack

(Third Person POV)

Far from the city streets, several robot drones fly through the woods in a quiet street. In a stolen truck, Eggman, Stone, and a couple of Badniks and Buzz Bombers ride through the forest. About five Badniks were partying in the back while three Buzz Bombers were chugging a carton of gasoline. Stone was in the passenger seat while Eggman was driving like Cruella De Vil.

"Anyone got any status on the hedgehog?! We need is power for world domination!" Eggman sneers.

A BadNik named Y-17 tries to pinpoint Sonic's location through the tracker embedded in its code, but results are not good.

"Can't find him, boss! I think after he found out about you hacking his phone to see his texts, he put a more secure lock on his internet!" Y-17 says.

"Well then try to pin point Pastry King's iPhone!" Eggman demanded.

"You mean Tom Wachowski's iPhone?" N-64 asked.

"Whatever his name is! We need to find the hedgehog! I will have my revenge on what he did back in his little home and retrieve that power!!" Eggman exclaimed as he straightened the sleeve on his red and black suit.

"Exactly, Doctor! Plus upgrading the Badniks to talk was genius thinking!"

"Eh, got sick of them being quiet."

A BadNik raises its think lanky metallic hand with three fingers.

"Oh! Got reports in that GC-02 found him! In a place called... Brooklyn?" R-34 said.

Robotnik smiles maliciously.

"Oh that blue menace thinks he can hide from me? Well he's in for a treat. I'll see him fall like a newborn bird." He grinned as the blue quill in his pocket glows.

As the three Mobians sleep soundly in the golden white beds, Sonic tosses and turns in his sleep, having another awful dream. As sweat begins to drip from his forehead and hyperventilation begins to rise, Sonic tosses and turns which makes Tails wake up. He gets out of bed and pokes his brother gently on the head.

"Nnn... Sonic? Are you okay?"

Expecting to wake up slowly, Tails gets to total opposite. Sonic screams out of his nightmare and grips his chest, feeling his heart pounding faster than a drumbeat.

"Uh.... I... Jesus...." He breathed.

As Knuckles bolts out of bed, he hugs his brother to calm him down.

"Sonic... calm down... did you have that nightmare again?" Knuckles asked.

As the blue blur breaks into tears, he hugs the echidna in a need of comfort.

"... yes... I don't want to talk about it now..." he cried.

"It's okay. You'll be okay. It was just a nightmare." Knuckles assured.

As the three siblings get out of bed, Sonic sulks to the kitchen table and looks outside to see the daybreak rise. Why was he having these nightmares... and what are they trying to tell him? As Tom and Maddie get breakfast ready, the siblings think about what they should do today. Sonic sees the newspaper and reads the latest article about Mayor Pauline insisting on doing a festival to celebrate New York's history in the next month. As Tom turns on the news, he gives the boys their waffles and bacon. Sonic sees a news article about a couple of people that have gone missing last week. The article says a group of juvie's who call themselves the "Hydro Rebels" have reportedly gone missing after they were last seen having a rave party in the sewers and all thirteen members have not been found yet. Sonic hopes those members are okay, even if they are juvenile delinquents.
