Chapter 14: Captured and Claimed

(Third Person POV)

Deep within the Koopa Castle, a piano was playing a sweet melody. But what's this? Bowser was playing the piano? But why? He had a picture of Princess Peach and he began to think about her so much, it made him want to sing his heart out.

"Peach~... you're so cool...
And with my Star we're gonna rule~
Peach~ understand...
I'm gonna LOVE you till the very end...
Peaches, Peaches, Peaches, Peaches, Peaches~
Peaches, Peaches, Peaches, Peaches, Peaches~
I~ LOVE YOU!
Oh ooh~!"

The more he sang, the more he kept fantasizing about the princess. He imagined that she was looking down at him, giving him a warm smile, or even a blow kiss. He even imagined she was swooning over his music, or giving him a dreamy look. Not only that, he imagined that the princess bit her lip or even gave him a dramatic pose. He believed that somewhere in the princess's heart, she might care about this beast... but Bowser just won't accept the reality. Speaking of reality... he's still in La La Land fantasizing about his crush.

"PEACHES~~, PEACHES—"

"Sire?"

"Our lord?"

Two voices from behind interrupted his fantasy as he was a little surprised by it. But he absolutely hates it when people interrupt him. And yet those two voices were Kamek and BadNik Y-17. He took a deep breath in, trying to hold back his anger.

"What?" He asked, irritated.

"Don't be mad... but Lena and her siblings... have escaped." Y-17 shivered.

He left scratches on the piano cover and it seemed like he was about to turn around and roast Y-17 alive.

"BUT—! She landed in the Darklands. I've already sent out the Shy Guys to find her and maybe bring back Metal Sonic." Y-17.

Bowser huffed. Metal has been searching for Chaos Emeralds since yesterday. If he doesn't return soon, his circuits might get taken out.

"Good. What about you, Kamek? Anything to say?" Bowser asked, still not looking at them.

"Well, there's been a report from two Badniks. Two humans and three Mobians have arrived in the Mushroom Kingdom. One with a mustache, and the other does not. And there's a red Mobian, a yellow one, and a blue one." Said Kamek.

Bowser let a steamed huff, making the old Koopa jump back in fright and the young BadNik close her one eye.

"But they didn't seem to be moving. Who knows if the princess met them already. She could be up to something." Y-17 said.

This chatter made Bowser more furious, but he didn't show it. He took a deep breath, exhaled, and closed his eyes. Opening them back up, he speaks.

"Sit." He said, patting the side of the chair. "Jam with me."

Kamek listened and Y-17 just perched herself on the top of the piano. The wizard and the king begin a duet.

"These humans. Where did they come from?" Bowser asked, strangely calm.

"We're... Unsure." Kamek said.
