Chapter 22: Let the Adventure Begin!

(Third Person POV)

As they see Crysta and Lenal coming their way, they stop in their tracks to see the scared expressions on the little critters faces.

"Guys, what happened?! We heard Sonic screaming after Peach told us to hide in her closet! A-and Ethan escaped so he could join the fight!!" Lena exclaimed.

"Where are they?" Crysta asked, highly concerned.

Mario and Peach didn't know what to tell them, but their attention turned to a sobbing Tails who was hugging Knuckles.

"They took them... they took them!!!" He cried.

Crysta gasps in horror as Lena looks to her sibling. The poor wisp drops to the ground, crying as Lena hugs her.

"Ethan... why...?" The wisp sobbed.

"He sacrificed himself for us... we took the fall too many times, he wanted to return the favor." Lena said.

She was true about that part. The siblings suffered so much by themselves. Feeling terrible, Knuckles scoops up the wisps and Lumalee, giving them a hug out of empathy.

"We'll help you get your sibling back. We promise." Said Knuckles.

Tails looks up at Tom.

"Dad? You think Sonic will be alright?" Tails asked.

"For his sake, I hope so." Tom said.

The baby luma murmured in sadness and Mario gives it a hug as it crawls out of his hat. Peach felt said that this family has to endure all this pain. She hopes that the kongs can help them stop Bowser and save Sonic.

"So, Peach... will you help us get my brother and Sonic back?" Mario asked.

Peach looks at Mario, feeling sorry for everything that had just recently happened. The baby Luma looks at the princess, it's wide sad eyes were practically asking for her to say yes. Peach smiles as Mario puts the baby back in his hat.

"Yep. Let's see what you guys are made of." Peach said.

She then walks away, as Mario and the others follow after her.

"Is that a yes?" Tails asked.

"No, that's a 'let's see what you guys are made of.'" Peach replied curtly.

The baby Luma was curious on what she meant, while Mario looked nervous and Tom looked concerned. Peach opened the doors that lead to the balcony, as they're behind a waterfall until it opens for them like a curtain. Then, the balcony moves on its way out as soon as the gang stand in it. The balcony stops and levitates above the water. Just then, a giant Question Block emerges from the water, the same one Peach showed Sonic earlier. As it flies in front of them, its pieces start coming apart, revealing a training course and the pink flag emerges from the balcony they're standing on. Knuckles was amazed by all of this. It was the same kind of style that civilization used next to his village long ago.

"If you all can finish this, you're coming with me. Watch and learn." Peach said, before running off.

Jumping over a small gap and spikes, the princess jumped onto a couple of blocks of floating mid-air before performing a perfect mid-air back flip. She then jumped over a few robotic Piranha Plants, running towards several fire bars. She managed to slip under them and avoid another robot Piranha Plant. Flying through the air, the princess landed on a platform so she could run and perform a perfect flying kick to the Bowser cut-out, destroying it. Once she landed, the blocks beneath her heels turned red and fell rapidly. As she ran, missiles were pointing in her direction and fired. Seeing this, Peach narrowed her eyes in determination and smirked. Hoping off the last block, she jumped off the missiles one by one until she jumped out to grab the flag pole. Spinning around a least three times, she let go and used her dress as a parachute to land on the ground safely. Dusting her gloves off, she panted slowly as she looked at the shocked faces of Mario, Tom, Tails, Knuckles, Toad, Lena, Crysta, Kassidy, and the baby Luma.
