Chapter 36: Battlefield

(Third Person POV)

Once everyone takes a left, they find Bowser's car which almost looks like a purple and gold monster truck. Sonic takes a moment to suck in the fact of what the turtle's favorite color is.

"Man, this guy loves purple? Who does he think he is? William Afton from Five Nights at Freddy's?" He joked.

"No time for jokes, come on!" Mario said.

As everyone hops in, Ethan and Crysta look at the controls.

"You sure you know how this works?" Ethan asked.

"Yeah. Go, stop, and a spare!" Crysta remarks, pointing at the gears.

"Let's go!" Peach said.

"Full speed ahead!!" DK says.

"Do not yell at my siblings." Said Lena.

"What the Star said!" Toad added.

"Guys let's not argue right now!" Tails said.

"Yes! Koopas will ambush us any second!" Knuckles said.

"Yeah! While you guys drive, I'll shoot to slow them down." Said Tom.

"What my husband said!" Maddie adds.

Luigi sees an orange star kid who looked oddly familiar.

"Hey, I recognize that star," Luigi raised an accusing finger. "That's the star that kept ranting about dying!"

Maddie followed suit, looking like she was ready to slap some sense into it.

"Guys!" Mayhem yelled. "First of all, I was under a curse thanks to Kamek. Two, I know dying is a thing for my species and because when we use our wish, its lights out for us when we turn into galaxies! That's why Lena wants to change her wish. And I'm sorry!"

"Okay, but we gotta get the hell outta here" Luigi pointed out.

"In this truck?" Tom asked, incredulously.

"I'll drive!" Sonic said.

Once he said that, Tom quickly remembered how bad he was behind the wheel. But since the last year, his driving skills have improved. He just hopes Sonic doesn't crash into a wall...

Bowser bursted in, wedding outfit burnt from the lava and mildly scarred. The door to the back flew in off its hinges and collided heavily with the wall opposite it. He quickly stormed into the room, Soldiers behind him raised in a ready position but there was no one in the room other than an unconscious Koopa. A sound coming from the open gate shaft drew Bowser's attention to it. And he sees a cable, and grabs onto it

In the hall Mario, Sonic, Peach, and the others are driving through the castle for dear life as they drove down the rock hard dirt a quickening pace. They whizzed around a hair pin turn, looking like an overloaded bobsled team when a fireball exploded just inches behind them. Mario craned his neck to look behind them and saw Bowser clinging onto the back of the car. The even worse part was that he was climbing the loose cable.
