Chapter 18: Bonding with Peach

(Third Person POV)

"What you mean, give them hospitality, your highness?" A guard asked.

"I mean we nurse them to health. We can't just train them this early. It is morning after all." Peach said, claiming a point.

Sonic knew she was right because sleepiness was attempting to overtake him. A yawn escaped from Tails' lips and Knuckles pats his back.

"Not to mention we got attacked by some... red plant with white spots."

"Wait... you mean a Piranha plant?? Ugh, those weeds are absolute menaces!" A guard said.

"Sonic got bit, but managed to patch up his wound." Tom declared.

Peach begins to examine Sonic's patches up wound.

"I see... Guards! Take our guests to the guest rooms. I'll take Sonic, Mario, and The blue Luma over to the infirmary." Peach said.

Sonic didn't want to leave Tom, but the cop takes a knee and he talks to his son. Sonic however sees Lena hugging her siblings.

"Crysta, Evan, go with the Fox."

"But, Lee! We just reunited with you! We can't—"

"Crysta, Lena has a point. She's the one who's been banged up. Not us. As of now we have to listen and go with Mr. Tom and Young Tails." Evan explained.

The crimson Wisp was saying the truth, but the cyan one had to accept it.

"Okay." Crysta said.

"Don't worry about me. Lady Peach will tend to my wounds. After all I did help her escape that one time she got kidnapped." Lena said.

The wisps nod. Mario and Sonic looked confused. Does Peach have a history with this Bowser guy? Tom looks at his kid.

"Sonic, I want you to go with Miss Peach so she can take a look at your injuries." Tom said.

"But dad, I don't want to leave Tails or you alone again, what if you guys need me or..?"

"We'll be fine Sonic. We've dealt with worse, you know." Tails said.

Those words reminded him of his past experiences with Eggman. Sonic knew his little brother had a point.

"I'll go with him. Just incase he feels uneasy." Knuckles said.

Tom and Tails nod in agreement. As they start to walk away, the guards escort Tom, the wisps, and Tails to the guest rooms while Peach, Toad, Mario, the Lumas, and Sonic to the infirmary.

Sitting on a chair in a white room with medical stuff and green mushrooms, a few Doctor Toads examine Sonic's injury from the Piranha Plant. Toad explains what happened to a pink female doctor Toadette about what happened. Peach looks at Mario, only to see no injuries except for a small scratch on his finger from a Piranha Plant thorn. Knuckles leans against the wall as a few Doctor Toads examine Lena's bite mark.

"That sounded very scary, Toad. You must be incredibly brave, Toad." Said Toadette.

"Hehe, thanks. Since the princess might be going alone, I thought of going with her. I didn't want her to be by herself incase Koopas would give a surprise attack."
