Chapter 8: The Doctor and the King

(Third Person POV)

As Eggman and Stone fly away from police, Badniks begin to shoot at the cop cars. One cop manages to shoot at the EggMobile and the little aircraft comes plummeting down into the street! The Buzz Bomber shoots a puff of smoke but some shotgun shells blast through it, instantly killing the Buzz Bomber and a BadNik.

"Doctor! Where to?!" Stone panicked.

Eggman looks around to find anything... but all he sees is an alleyway. Thinking quickly on his feet, the doctor and stone quickly enter the alleyway along with the drone named Y-17. As the coast seemed clear, the BadNik talks to her creator.

"Robotnik! All of the drones are down! Authorities are after our butts! What do we do now?!" Y-17 exclaimed.

"Well, if we act like sitting ducks, it's only a matter of seven hours until the manhunt begins. We need to find a place to hide." Robotnik explained.

"Yes, Doctor! I will follow you to our new hiding ground." Stone said.

"Okay, but from now on, please call me Ivo." Said Robotnik.

"Yes... Ivo" Stone replied.

Y-17 hums a song to herself and the three just walk through the dark alleyways to find an abandoned building near the Chasse au Canard. They find an entrance to see the inside of the building all boarded up from every window to the front door except for this one.

"So what? We stay here and rebuild?" Y-17 asked.

"Nope. We need to go underground where they can't find us. Look around, see if you can find any doors that lead to downstairs." Robotnik replied.

As they search for any doors that lead to an underground area, Y-17 notices some graffiti on the walls that were in different shades of blue. But the graffiti was saying something.

"Hydro-Rebels"

Y-17 didn't know what this meant... although, now that she thinks about it, she did see a news article on how this gang of juvenile delinquents went missing after being last seen in the sewers. Stone looks through the tarnish wood and some broken bricks, and ends up finding a rotting door that has stairs.

"Ivo, I found something." Stone said.

Robotnik looks down the stairs to find nothing but darkness. He knew that whatever was down there could've lead to a secret underground hideout that he could reshape into his new headquarters. As the doctor walks downstairs, he grins, hoping to find a basement. But what's this? A hallway with another door? The doctor, the agent, and the drone open the door to find... another hallway?! No... this leads to an underground pipe area.

"What is this, Doctor?" Stone asked.

"Not sure. But let's see what's down there... maybe we can build our lab down there." Robotnik said.

"I'm getting two strong energy surges down there... the first one is stronger than then second, and it's not one of the fabled Chaos Emeralds that Sonic used." Y-17 said.

They spent the next couple minutes narrowing down all the possible directions they covered and didn't cover. Only to find nothing at the bottom. Y-17 swore she could pinpoint the energy source of a Chaos Emerald hidden around here somewhere. Stone however takes in his surroundings in his battered agent suit. Robotnik wipes some dust off his scratched up suit. Stone wouldn't have an incentive not to consider he relied on Robotnik and his drones, who was the brains of this operation. Since Stone is so loyal to his go-worker, there was no way of knowing why this abandoned building had a massive pipe system underneath. Y-17 found more graffiti of the Hydro-Rebels gang, but she paused as something peculiar caught his eye. The last bit of graffiti led to some sort of strange, green pipe that stood out from its dark and gray cousins. What was this pipe? It seemed very out of place for a pipe like this to be down here. But that was what caught Y-17's attention. The fact that it was out of place and enormous was enough to pique someone's interest, she alerts her creator and agent. Robotnik was intrigued by this pipe. Could it lead to another abandoned area. He and Stone approached the pipe, but Y-17 felt a strong energy sweeping them off their feet as an unknown force dragged them through the pipe. Stone scurried against the floor as he fought against the force, but it dragged him through as he screamed.
