Chapter 12 Hunter's POV
She didn't turn around. I grabbed her hand as which she turned around and pushed me,"GET AWAY FROM ME!" "GIVE ME A CHANCE TO EXPLAIN." I couldn't really see her because the rain was coming down too hard, but I tried to make the best out of it. "HUNTER YOU SHOULD HAVE NOTHING TO SAY." "I do, please stop yelling-" I grabbed her hand again as she pulled away in fear,"LEAVE ME ALONE-" I squeezed my hands to her shoulders getting her attention,"NO! LISTEN TO ME!!! THEN AFTER I FINISH YOU CAN HATE ME AGAIN OK?!" She stayed quiet, but was crying. Hard. I let her go and took a deep breathe,"you wouldn't go to college and no matter how many times I told you to go, you wouldn't listen to me. You were getting big opportunities and I was holding you back and that hurts me so bad to watch you miss those. So I told you I didn't love you and I said it like I meant it. Although it broke my heart seeing you in pain, it was the only way. After you left for college, I called your track coach and told him to update me on everything you do so I know how well your doing. I watched all your 3 championships on tv because I love you. And I never stopped loving you. BUT HOW ELSE WERE YOU GOING TO GO TO COLLEGE?!" She looked at me with waterfalls coming out her eyes. She tried her best not to show she was crying, but it showed and it hurts me. "Why?" She questioned me with anger,"because I loved you so much I was willing to give you up." I looked down,"I thought I was doing what was best for you-" "NO YOU THOUGHT YOU WERE DOING WHAT WAS BEST FOR ME, WHEN IT WAS YOU WHO WAS BEST FOR ME." I paused. Wow. I didn't notice that and that breaks my heart. I was planning to tell her when she goes to that Nashville race, but she came out of no where so might as well tell her now. She looked down crying. "I thought I was doing what was best for you." I said choking on my tears. Now I feel bad. She said I was best for her and I'm an idiot for not noticing,"so for 3 years." She said. I looked at her as she looked at me,"you never went on another date?" "No." I looked down,"the day I told you I didn't love you..." I took a deep breathe,"was the same day I was going to ask you to marry me." She looked up at me and ran to my arms. Her arms wrapped around my neck as she came close. I remember when she use to do that. My head was literally inches away from her, as my arms couldn't do anything, but wrap around her. "Hunter." She whispered to me sounding eager. I didn't want to listen to anything any more because I missed her being close to me, for 3 years, I have never been this close to any girl. Now I know what she wants,"Laure-" "Hunter." She interrupted me. We were quiet as her arms tightened around me neck,"Will you marry-" "yes." She said quickly not letting me respond. You don't understand what's happening right now. She didn't just hug me because she wanted a diamond a ring, she hugged me because knew I never stopped loving her. I never stopped loving her. We have known each other for 20 years (at the most) dated for 3 years, didn't see each other for 3 years, I asked her to marry me. I was just thinking out loud. I jumped into a kiss. I only smiled as she kissed me back.
