Chapter 8 Hunter's POV
She stood up and dusted herself off as like nothing was wrong with her anymore. She tried to speak, but nothing came out. Her relay race team came and chanted her name. She ran back to the track field as they followed her. I stepped back. I knew she wasn't going to say anything. I'm an idiot for helping her, I "don't love her". "Hunter." Jayden came and pushed me,"GET THE HELL AWAY FROM HER!" He yelled,"Jayden, calm down-" "I DONT WANT YOU NEAR HER, DONT TOUCH HER!" "Ok Jayden, I won't do it again." I said trying to calm him down,"I MEAN IT HUNTER!" He walked away, stopped, then walked back to me again,"I WAS ON YOUR SIDE!" I nodded understanding what he meant,"Jayden, I had to do it-" "FOR WHAT!? TO BREAK HER HEART!? SO YOU BOUGHT THAT RING TO GIVE TO HER AND YOU LEFT THE SAME DAY YOU WERE GOING TO GIVE IT TO HER!? ARE YOU SERIOUS?" "Jayden-" "NO!" "JAYDEN, WILL YOU PLEASE BE QUIET AND LET ME TALK!?" He stayed quiet, but he was mad, angry. "She wanted to go to college out of state and she wouldn't go because she didn't want to leave me. Now how will that make me look if I said 'I love you for doing that for me'?" He stepped back,"So I told her I didn't love her for her to leave and go to college. It was the only way and I'm sorry you interpreted the wrong way, but she was getting opportunities and I was holding her back. Now if you don't understand me now, then you never understood me from the start." "Hunter, why?" "Because I had too. Jayden jumped into a hug which caught me by surprise. "She will never understand what you did for her..." "And I never want her too." He pulled away and gave me a kiss. I was in complete shock. "Because the head person of this event asked me to perform." "How long was your flight?" "2 hours I think? It was a short flight." "I KNEW IT!" Me and Jayden turned around and saw the USC girl that went head to head against Lauren. She looked weak and tired,"I KNEW SHE LOVED YOU!" "She doesn't love me-" I said,"SHUT UP!" I looked at Jayden as Jayden looked at me. We laughed so hard. "Why are you laughing?" "Because we know your mad you got beat." Jayden said as we laughed again,"That's what it feels like to get beat when you haven't been beaten in a long time." I said as I laughed again. "Go back to your track event." Jayden said as we looked at each other,"Hunter, just tell her." I looked at Lauren as she was running. She's so beautiful I just can never stop looking at her. "No." She doesn't need to know why I did what I did. Let her run, run like the wind.
