Chapter 23 Lauren's POV
"LAUREN SNAP OUT OF IT! WHATS WRONG WITH YOU?!" My track coach yelled at me. "YOU ALWAYS GET A 4 MINTUE MILE AND YOU GET A 4:30 MINTUE MILE!? ARE YOU SERIOUS!?" I was trying to catch my breathe,"just 30 seconds slower coach, I'll get it next time I promise-" "NO, YOU'RE GOING TO RUN IT AGAIN RIGHT NOW." I rolled my eyes,"GO!" He yelled as I started running again. I can't get my mind focus, everything is bothering, Hunter being gone is the main reason. I'm on the second lap for the mile right now and I'm already tired from the one before. When I did my runs before the mile, I kept getting 30 seconds for the 100 meter, but I always get 20 seconds(so what my coach says). I was on my last lap as I looked at my watch 3:12 is time I'm at. I need to speed up. I sped up and crossed the line,"That's a better time, don't ever make me do that again to you Lauren." My coach told me as I tried catching my breathe. I fell to my knees because my legs were shaking and sweat was running down my face like rain. God, track practice is way to hard, but I never complain, only in my head. I stood up straight and looked around to see all the other track and field practices going on: high jump, long jump, relay race teams. I started walking to the bleachers as there was a crowd of fans waiting for me. Someone how, I'm a famous runner at UCLA, I win big races on TV, win races naturally and I guess people watch and that's how I get some what "famous", hopefully one day, I'll be on the Olympic's. Tons of parents bring their kids out to watch me, teenagers waiting to meet me and talk to me. I started getting closer as the crowd started screaming my name to get their attention,"LAUREN, LAUREN, LAUREN!" They would yell. I came to the bleachers as a campus security guy came to help me, he told everyone (about 200 people) to get in a line too talk to me and take pictures. I laughed,"I got your back." The security guy said,"thanks." I replied laughing. He stood next to me to make sure I wouldn't get hurt or tackled by any one of those crazy fans. A teen about 16 or 17 holding a photo of me running and a pen was first to go. She looked exited, inspired by me, almost about to cry. The security guy let her go, she walked up to and looked at me. Her mouth drop as I couldn't help, but to smile,"don't worry! You don't have to talk." I playfully said,"I can't believe I'm in front of you. I never thought this was going to happen to me." "Well, it's your lucky day." She handed my her picture and pen as I signed it,"picture?" I asked. "Can I give you a big, long hug?" She asked politely,"oh yes." As I kneeled down as she hugged me, tight. Now I can see what Hunter feels when he meets his fans for music. He just adores them, and I adore mine,"I'm sorry." She whispered in my ear. I pulled away as she looked at me,"I heard you and Hunter Hayes are engaged and he went back on tour." I nodded,"you don't need to be sorry." "You are hero and inspiration, I'm trying out for my high school track team because of you." "ARE YOU SERIOUS!? That's so awesome. I really appreciate that, but when you run, don't run for me. Don't run for your friends, don't run for your parents, run for you." She smiled as she took her phone out, I grabbed it and wrapped my arm around her,"SMILE!" I yelled as I snapped the photo. I said bye to her as I know she just had the biggest moment in her life, the next fan came up to me. Man, we're just getting started...
