Chapter 21 Thinking Out Loud

Chapter 21 Lauren's POV
I tried not to cry as I held Hunter's hand to his tour bus. I leave Nashville tomorrow to go back to California to finish my senior year of college, but Hunter has to tour. He stopped and turned to face me. I'm not crying this time, I need to be tough (although I do want to cry and take him back home with me because I don't want him to leave). Hunter tilted his head at me with sadness,"are you going to be ok?" He asked. I did a pretended nod,"I'll be perfectly fine." He just looked at me,"Lauren, you don't have to do that with me." "Do what?" I questioned. He just continued to look at,"I know you're upset, and I know you're trying really hard not to show it." He's on to me. He knows my plan now. "You know me like a book!!" "I'm being serious." "well me too." I quickly responded. He looked down at his feet,"you know the hardest thing is saying goodbye to you-" "why are you saying goodbye?" I quickly interrupted,"because you have to finish school and run, when will you have time? I'll be gone for a year the most." "But I still have spring break, winter break? You're dumb if you think I'm not going to at least go see you-" "I don't want you too." He said,"you don't want me to go see you?" I asked starting to get upset. He nodded his head 'no'. "Because when I see you? I will never let you go back home-" "THEN WHY ARE YOU TOURING HUNTER?" I yelled as my hands fell to my side. "Why?" I questioned again. Hunter looked at me knowing he messed up, but I'm being serious about this. "I love my fans, I have to give back to them." I looked at him understanding, but I was mad. "Lauren I'll be back before you know-" "no. You won't." I quickly said. He looked at me trying to figure out what to say, he opened his mouth, but nothing came out,"you don't have to say anything Hunter. There's nothing to say when you're leaving for a year." "Can I just kiss you?" He asked. I nodded as he kissed me. I pulled away,"what kind of kiss was that?" "It's a 'I'm going to miss you' kinda kiss." Hunter's eyes started to get watery,"please don't cry." I requested politely,"I hate being mean to you-" "Hunter let's not do this now-" "yes I now." He said raising his voice,"I'm leaving for a year, no time to go see you, and I vowed not go back on tour until you
finished running and look where it ended up. I'm going on tour and YOU have not finished your running. I love you so much and you don't understand that. I know you don't because when I tell you, you have this look in your eyes that makes me fall more in love with you. You have this smile that takes my breathe away, it's weird when you have to do crazy stuff when you're in love. For example, me leaving you to go to college! THAT WAS CRAZY RIGHT!? Only because I loved you. I plan on calling you every night and if you think I'm going to cheat on you or like someone else and leave you while I'm gone?
