You was a convenience store employee who had a simple and boring life. You worked long hours for a low pay, and you had no friends or hobbies to enjoy. You often wondered if there was more to life than this.

One day, as you was walking home from work, you saw a girl fall on the street. She was wearing a school uniform and carrying a large canvas. She looked hurt and scared, so you rushed to help her.

"Are you okay?" you asked, as you helped her stand up.

"Y-yes, thank you," she said, with a slight accent. "I'm sorry for the trouble."

"No trouble at all," You said, smiling. "What's your name?"

"I'm Airani Iofifteen, but you can call me Iofi," she said.

"I'm Y/N," you said. "Nice to meet you, Iofi."

Iofi smiled back at you. She had big eyes and long hair that shone like gold in the sun. She was very cute and charming, and you felt your heart skip a beat.

"What are you doing here?" you asked.

"I'm on my way to an art contest, but I'm late," she said, looking at her canvas. It was a painting of a starry sky with an alien spaceship in the corner. It was very beautiful and creative.

"Wow, that's amazing," You said, admiring her work. "You're very talented."

"Thank you," she said, blushing. "But I don't think I can make it in time. The contest is in another town, and I missed the bus."

"Don't worry, I'll drive you there," You said, without thinking.

"Really? You would do that for me?" she asked, surprised.

"Of course," you said. "It's the least I can do."

You took her canvas and led her to your car. You didn't know why you offered to help her, but you felt a strong connection with her. You wanted to see her succeed and be happy.

They got in the car and drove off. Along the way, they talked about their lives and interests. You learned that Iofi was an exchange student from another planet who came to Earth to study art and culture. She loved Earth's culture, especially anime and manga. She also loved to sing and draw.

You told her about your job and your dreams of traveling the world and learning new languages. You also told her about your favorite movies and games.

They found out that they had a lot in common, and they enjoyed each other's company. They laughed and joked like old friends.

You felt something you had never felt before: happiness.

They arrived at the contest just in time. You helped Iofi carry her canvas to the registration desk.

"Thank you so much for your help," she said, gratefully.

"No problem," you said. "Good luck with the contest."

You watched as she joined the other contestants in a large hall. You wanted to stay and cheer for her, but you realized that you had to go back to work. You checked your phone and saw that you had several missed calls from your boss.

"Oh no," you muttered. "I'm in trouble."

You ran back to your car and drove away as fast as you could. You hoped that your boss wouldn't fire you for being late.

You arrived at the convenience store and saw your boss waiting for you outside.

"Where have you been?" your boss shouted. "You're two hours late!"

"I'm sorry, boss," you said, nervously. "I had an emergency."

"What emergency?" your boss asked.

"I had to help someone who fell on the street," you said.

"Who? Your girlfriend?" your boss asked, sarcastically.

"No, just a friend," You said.

"A friend? What kind of friend?" your boss asked.

"A girl from another planet who came to Earth to study art and culture," You said.

Your boss looked at you like you was crazy.

"Are you kidding me?" your boss asked. "Do you think I'm stupid?"

"No, boss," You said.

"Then stop lying to me!" your boss yelled. "You're fired!"

He threw a paper bag at your face. It contained your uniform and your last paycheck.

"Get out of here!" your boss said. "And don't come back!"

You felt tears in your eyes as you picked up the bag and walked away. You had lost your job, your only source of income. You didn't know what to do.

You got in your car and drove aimlessly. You felt like your life was over.

You thought about Iofi. You wondered how she was doing. You hoped that she had won the contest. You wished that you could see her again.

You looked at the sky and saw that it was getting dark. You saw the stars shining brightly.

You remembered Iofi's painting. You remembered her smile.

You felt a spark of hope in your heart.
