[🚑] The Policeman and the Duck ( Part 1)

You was a policeman who worked at the same station as Subaru, a cheerful and tomboyish girl who was also a VTuber associated with hololive. They had been friends for a while, but you had always felt something more for her. You admired her confidence, her optimism, and her spirit. You also found her cute, especially when she said "shuba shuba shuba" to express her excitement or contentment.

One day, you heard that Subaru had fallen ill and had to take a week off from work. You felt worried about her and decided to visit her at her home. You bought some flowers and fruits for her and knocked on her door.

"Subaru, are you there? It's me, Y/N."

You heard a weak voice from inside.

"Y/N? What are you doing here?"

You opened the door and saw Subaru lying on the couch, wrapped in a blanket. She looked pale and tired, but she still managed to smile at you.

"Hi, Subaru. I came to see how you are doing. I brought you some gifts."

You walked over to her and placed the flowers and fruits on the table. You then sat down next to her and felt her forehead.

"You're burning up. Have you taken your medicine?"

She nodded.

"Yeah, I have. But it doesn't seem to help much. I still feel awful."

You frowned.

"That's not good. Do you have anyone to take care of you?"

She shook her head.

"No, I live alone. And I can't stream or work either. It's so boring and lonely here."

You felt a pang of sympathy for her. You wanted to make her feel better.

"Hey, why don't I stay with you for a while? I can help you with your chores and cook for you. And we can watch some movies or play some games together."

She looked at you with surprise and gratitude.

"Really? You would do that for me?"

You nodded.

"Of course. You're my friend, after all. And I don't have anything else to do today."

She smiled warmly at you.

"Thank you, Y/N. You're so kind and sweet. I really appreciate it."

You blushed slightly.

"It's nothing. Don't mention it."

You then got up and headed to the kitchen.

"I'll make you some soup first. You need to eat something nutritious."

She watched you go and felt a warm feeling in her chest.

"He's so nice to me" she thought. "He always makes me laugh and feel happy. He's such a good friend".

"But maybe he's more than that?"

She wondered if you felt the same way about her as she did about you.

She hoped you did.

You stayed with Subaru for the whole week, taking care of her and keeping her company. You cooked her delicious meals, cleaned her house, and bought her medicine. You also watched movies with her, played games with her, and listened to her stories. You was attentive, gentle, and patient with her. You made her laugh and feel happy.

Subaru enjoyed your presence and your care. She felt grateful and touched by your kindness. She also felt more and more attracted to you. She liked your smile, your voice, and your eyes. She liked your personality, your humor, and your intelligence. She liked everything about you.

She wanted to tell you how she felt, but she was afraid of ruining their friendship. She didn't know if you liked her back or not. She didn't want to make things awkward or uncomfortable between them.

So she kept her feelings to herself and hoped you would notice them.

But you didn't.

Or at least, you pretended you didn't.

You was actually aware of Subaru's feelings for you. You could tell by the way she looked at you, the way she talked to you, and the way she acted around you. You felt the same way about her. You loved her.

But you was also afraid of ruining their friendship. You didn't know if she liked you back or not. You didn't want to make things awkward or uncomfortable between them.

So you kept your feelings to yourself and hoped she would notice them.

But she didn't.

Or at least, she pretended she didn't.

They were both in love with each other, but they were both too scared to admit it.

They were both fools.
