You was shocked by Ayame's confession. You couldn't believe what you just heard.

"You're not human? What do you mean?" you asked.

She sighed and let go of your hand.

"Y/N, I'm an oni. A kind of yōkai from Japanese folklore. You know, like the ones you see in anime and manga," she said.

She reached for her hair and pulled out two small horns that were hidden under her bangs. She also showed you her fangs.

"See? These are my real features. I usually hide them with magic, but I can't lie to you anymore," she said.

She looked at you with a hopeful expression.

"Y/N, please don't hate me. Please don't be afraid of me. I'm still the same Ayame you know and love. I just have a different origin," she said.

You stared at her in disbelief.

"Ayame... you're an oni? A yōkai? How... how is that possible?" you asked.

She explained to you that she was born in the Underworld, a parallel dimension where yōkai lived. She had always been fascinated by the human world and wanted to learn more about it. She had enrolled in the Underworld Academy, a special school that allowed yōkai to study in the human world. She had been living in the human world for a few years, using magic to disguise herself as a human.

She also told you that she had fallen in love with you the first time she saw you. She had been drawn to your kindness, your intelligence, and your curiosity. She had enjoyed spending time with you and sharing her interests with you. She had also admired your courage and your sense of justice.

She had wanted to tell you the truth sooner, but she was afraid of how you would react. She was afraid that you would reject her or report her to the authorities. She was afraid that you would hate her or fear her.

But she couldn't keep it a secret any longer. She wanted you to know who she really was and how much she loved you.

She hoped that you would accept her and love her back.

She waited for your response with a nervous smile.

You looked at her with a mix of emotions. You felt confused, surprised, amazed, and curious. You also felt scared, angry, betrayed, and hurt.

You didn't know what to say or what to do.

You loved Ayame, but you also felt like you didn't know her at all.

You needed some time to think.

"Ayame... I... I need some time," you said.

You got up from the couch and headed for the door.

"Y/N, wait! Please don't go! Please talk to me!" she cried out.

You stopped at the door and turned to look at her.

"Ayame... I'm sorry. I just... I can't deal with this right now. I need some space," you said.

You opened the door and left.

She collapsed on the couch and sobbed.

She had just lost the love of her life.

You left Ayame's apartment and wandered around the city. You didn't know where to go or what to do. You felt lost and confused.

You loved Ayame, but you also felt like you had been lied to. She had hidden her true identity from you for so long. She had deceived you and betrayed your trust.

You wondered if she had ever been honest with you. You wondered if she had ever cared for you. You wondered if she had ever loved you.

You felt angry and hurt.
