You was a high school student who lived in a dormitory with your roommate, Zeta. Zeta was a mysterious girl who always wore a black suit and sunglasses, even indoors. She claimed to be an agent of a secret organization that collected virtual data, but you never believed her. You thought she was just a weirdo who liked to play spy games.

Zeta was always busy with her laptop and phone, typing and talking in different languages. She rarely interacted with you, except when she needed something from you, like borrowing your charger or asking you to buy her snacks. You didn't mind, though. You secretly had a crush on Zeta, even though you knew she was out of your league. You liked her cool and confident attitude, her exotic accent, and her cute cat-like ears that she tried to hide under her hat.

One day, when you came back from school, you found Zeta hugging him from behind as soon as you opened the door. You was startled and blushed, feeling her warm breath on your neck.

"Z-Zeta? What are you doing?" you stammered.

"Shh, don't make a sound. I'm on a mission," she whispered in your ear.

"A mission? What kind of mission?"

"I can't tell you. It's classified. But I need your help."

"My help? How?"

"Just pretend to be my boyfriend for a while."

"Your boyfriend?!"

"Yes, my boyfriend. There's someone outside who's following me. I need to throw them off my trail."

"Who's following you? Why?"

"I don't know. Maybe they're after my data. Or maybe they're just jealous of me."

"Jealous of you?"

"Yes, jealous of me. Because I'm so awesome and beautiful and smart and talented and..."

"Okay, okay, I get it. You're amazing. But how is pretending to be your boyfriend going to help?"

"It's simple. They'll think we're in love and leave us alone. Or they'll get disgusted and leave us alone. Either way, it works."

"I see. But are you sure this is necessary? Can't you just confront them or run away or something?"

"No, no, no. That's too risky. Trust me, this is the best option. Now come on, let's go to the couch and cuddle."

"Cuddle?!"

"Yes, cuddle. Don't be shy. It's just for show."

"O-okay..."

You followed Zeta to the couch, feeling nervous and excited at the same time. You sat down next to her and wrapped your arm around her waist, as she leaned her head on your shoulder and smiled.

"There, that's better," she said.

You felt your heart pounding in your chest as you looked at her face, which was only inches away from your own. You could smell her perfume, which was sweet and spicy at the same time. You could see her eyes, which were hidden behind her sunglasses, but you imagined they were sparkling with mischief.

You wondered if she felt anything for you, or if this was all just a game for her.

You wondered if you should make a move, or if you should wait for her to do something.

You wondered if this was your chance to confess your feelings, or if you would ruin everything by doing so.

You wondered what would happen next.

Zeta and you stayed on the couch for a while, pretending to be a couple. They talked and laughed and kissed, making sure to put on a good show for whoever was watching them. You enjoyed every moment of it, even though you knew it was fake. You hoped that Zeta did too, even though you couldn't tell.

After a while, Zeta checked her phone and said, "Okay, I think we're safe. They're gone."

"Really? How do you know?" You asked.

"I have a tracker app on my phone. It shows me the location of anyone who's following me. See?" She showed you her screen, which had a map with a red dot and a green dot.

"What's the red dot?"

"That's me."

"And the green dot?"

"That's them. They were outside our dorm, but now they're moving away. They probably gave up."

"I see. So, what now?"

"Now, we celebrate."

"Celebrate? How?"

"By going out for dinner. Come on, let's go."

"Go where?"

"To my favorite restaurant. It's not far from here. I'll treat you."

"You'll treat me? Why?"

"Because you helped me with my mission. And because you're my boyfriend. For now."

"For now?"

"Yes, for now. Don't get too attached. This is just temporary."

"Oh..."

You felt a pang of disappointment in your chest, but you tried to hide it. You knew this was too good to be true. You knew Zeta was just using you for her own purposes. You knew she didn't really care about you.

But you still wanted to spend more time with her. You still wanted to make her happy. You still wanted to impress her.

So you agreed to go with her to the restaurant, hoping that maybe, just maybe, she would change her mind.

They got dressed and left the dorm, walking hand in hand to the restaurant. Zeta was cheerful and chatty, telling you stories about her previous missions and adventures. You listened attentively, laughing at her jokes and admiring her skills.

They arrived at the restaurant, which was a fancy place with a modern and elegant decor. Zeta greeted the staff warmly, who seemed to know her well. She led you to a table near the window, where they had a nice view of the city lights.

They ordered their food and drinks, and continued their conversation. Zeta asked you about your life, your hobbies, your dreams. You answered honestly, telling her about your family, your friends, your studies. You also told her about you passion for music, and how you wanted to be a singer someday.

Zeta listened with interest, nodding and smiling and complimenting you. She seemed genuinely curious and impressed by you.

You felt happy and flattered by her attention. You felt like you was getting closer to her. You felt like you was making progress.

You decided to take a risk and ask her something that had been on your mind for a long time.

"Zeta, can I ask you something?"

"Sure, what is it?"

"Why do you always wear sunglasses? Even at night?"

Zeta paused for a moment, then chuckled.

"That's a good question."

She took off her sunglasses and placed them on the table.

She looked at you with her eyes, which were bright and beautiful and... cat-like.

She had vertical pupils, like a cat.

She had silver irises, like a cat.

She had eyelashes that curled up at the corners, like a cat.

She had eyes that were captivating and mesmerizing and... cat-like.

You gasped in surprise and awe.

You couldn't believe what you was seeing.

You couldn't take your eyes off hers.

You couldn't say anything.

You just stared at her in silence.
