[🌽] The Fox in the Box ( Part 1 )

You was a student in university who loved anime, games and VTubers. You was especially fond of Shirakami Fubuki, a white-haired fox girl who was part of Hololive, a group of virtual idols. You watched her streams every day and admired her cheerful personality, cute voice and meme skills.

One day, as you was on your way back home from school, you saw a small cardboard box near a trash can. You heard a faint whimpering sound coming from inside the box. Curious, you approached the box and opened it. To your surprise, you found a small white fox with light blue eyes and a fluffy tail inside. The fox looked at you with a scared and pitiful expression.

"Hey, little guy. Are you okay?" You asked softly, reaching out your hand to pet the fox.

The fox flinched at first, but then sniffed your hand and licked it gently. You felt a warm sensation in your heart. You decided to adopt the fox and take it home with you.

"Come on, I'll take you to my place. You can stay with me from now on. I'll name you... Fubuki." You said, smiling as you lifted the fox out of the box and hugged it.

The fox nodded and snuggled into your arms. It felt a strange connection with this human who had saved it from the cold and hunger. It also felt a familiar name in its mind. Fubuki... yes, that was its name.

But what you didn't know was that this fox was not an ordinary fox. It was actually Shirakami Fubuki herself, who had somehow ended up in this world as a real fox. She had no idea how or why she had arrived here, but she was grateful to you for rescuing her. She decided to keep her identity a secret for now and pretend to be a normal fox. She hoped that one day, she would find a way back to her own world.

But until then, she would enjoy her new life with you as your pet and friend.

You brought Fubuki to your apartment, which was small but cozy. You gave her some water and food, and prepared a bed for her in your room. You also bought some toys and treats for her to play with.

Fubuki was happy and grateful to you for your kindness and generosity. She felt comfortable and safe in your home. She also enjoyed watching you play games and watch anime on your computer. She recognized some of the games and anime you liked, as they were the same ones she had played and watched in her own world. She wanted to join you and talk to you, but she restrained herself from revealing her true nature.

She knew that if you found out that she was actually a VTuber from another world, you would be shocked and confused. You might even reject her or report her to someone. She didn't want to lose you or cause you any trouble. She decided to wait for the right time to tell you the truth, when she was sure that you would accept her and trust her.

But keeping her secret was not easy. Every night, when you was asleep, Fubuki would sneak out of her bed and transform into her human form. She would use your computer to check on her own world and see if there was any way to return there. She would also watch some of her own streams and those of her friends, feeling nostalgic and lonely.

She missed her colleagues and fans, who were probably worried about her sudden disappearance. She wondered if they were looking for her or if they had forgotten about her. She hoped that they were doing well and having fun.

She also felt guilty for lying to you and hiding her identity from you. She liked you a lot, not only as a fan but also as a person. You was kind, gentle, funny and smart. You treated her well and made her happy. You was also very handsome with your glasses. She felt a warm feeling in her chest whenever she looked at you or heard your voice.

She wanted to tell you how she felt, but she was afraid of your reaction. She didn't know if you would return her feelings or reject them. She didn't know if you would love her as Fubuki the fox or Fubuki the VTuber. She didn't know if you would love her at all.

She wished that she could stay with you forever, but she also knew that it was impossible. She belonged to another world, where she had a duty and a dream to fulfill. She couldn't abandon them or betray them.

She was torn between two worlds, two lives, two loves.

She didn't know what to do.

One night, you had a strange dream. You dreamed that he was in a forest, surrounded by trees and flowers. You heard a voice calling your name, a sweet and familiar voice. You followed the voice and found Fubuki, your pet fox, sitting on a rock. But she was not a fox anymore. She was a human girl, with white hair, light blue eyes and fox ears and tail. She was wearing a blue dress and a heart-shaped headband. She smiled at you and said:

"Y/N, I have something to tell you. I'm not a normal fox. I'm actually Shirakami Fubuki, a VTuber from another world. I came here by accident and I don't know how to go back. I'm sorry for lying to you and hiding my identity from you. But I did it because I like you. I like you more than anyone else in this world. I love you, Y/N."

You was shocked and confused by her words. You couldn't believe what you was hearing. You looked at her and said:

"Fubuki, is this true? Are you really a VTuber? Are you really from another world? How is this possible? Why didn't you tell me sooner?"

Fubuki looked at you with tears in her eyes and said:

"Y/N, please don't be angry with me. Please don't hate me. I wanted to tell you the truth, but I was afraid of losing you. I was afraid that you wouldn't accept me or trust me. I was afraid that you would think that I'm a freak or a monster. But I can't keep this secret anymore. I can't live this lie anymore. I have to tell you how I feel. Y/N, I love you. Please say that you love me too."

You felt a surge of emotions in your heart. You felt surprised, confused, angry, betrayed, but also curious, amazed, touched and happy. You looked at her and said:

"Fubuki, I don't know what to say. This is too much for me to process right now. You're a VTuber? You're from another world? You love me? How can this be? How can this be real?"

Fubuki reached out her hand and said:

"Y/N, please take my hand. Please trust me. Please believe me. This is real. This is not a dream. This is not a joke. This is not a prank. This is the truth. This is my truth. This is our truth."

You hesitated for a moment, but then you took her hand and said:

"Fubuki, I don't understand everything that's happening right now, but I do know one thing. I know that I care about you too. You're my friend, my pet, my companion, my partner, my lover. You're Fubuki, the fox in the box who changed my life for the better. You're Fubuki, the VTuber who makes me laugh and smile every day. You're Fubuki, the girl who loves me and whom I love too."

Fubuki smiled and said:

"Y/N, thank you for saying that. Thank you for accepting me and loving me for who I am."

They hugged each other and kissed passionately.

But then you woke up.

You realized that it was all a dream.
