[🐔] A Fiery Romance ( Part 1 )

You were a new employee at Hololive, a company that produces virtual entertainment. You were assigned to work under Kiara, the head of the English division. You had heard of her before, but you had never seen her in person. You were nervous and excited to meet her.

You entered her office and knocked on the door. She looked up from her computer and frowned.

"Who are you?" she asked coldly.

You introduced yourself and explained that you were her new subordinate.

She sighed and waved you in.

"Sit down. I don't have much time for this. I have a lot of work to do."

You sat down on a chair across from her desk. She looked at you with a bored expression.

"So, what can you do?" she asked.

You told her about your skills and experience, hoping to impress her.

She nodded slightly, but didn't seem very interested.

"Fine. You'll do. Just follow my instructions and don't mess up. And don't bother me unless it's absolutely necessary."

She turned back to her computer and ignored you.

You felt disappointed and confused. Was this how she treated all her employees? Why was she so cold and distant? Did she not like you?

You decided to try to break the ice and make some small talk.

"So, Kiara-san, I heard that you are a phoenix. That's amazing."

She looked at you again, this time with annoyance.

"What's so amazing about it? It's just a curse."

"A curse? How so?"

She rolled her eyes.

"Don't you know anything? Being a phoenix means that I can never die. I just keep reincarnating over and over again. It's boring and painful. And it makes me different from everyone else."

She paused and looked away.

"Especially from him."

"Him? Who is he?"

She shook her head.

"None of your business. Forget I said anything."

She resumed working on her computer, leaving you more curious than ever.

Who was he? Someone from her past? Someone she loved?

You wanted to know more about her, but you didn't dare to ask any more questions.

You decided to focus on your work instead, hoping to earn her respect and trust.

Maybe then, she would open up to you more.

You had been working under Kiara for a few weeks now. You had learned a lot from her, but you still felt like she didn't like you very much. She was always strict and demanding with you, never praising or thanking you for your efforts. She rarely smiled or joked with you, unlike with some of the other employees. She seemed to prefer working alone than with others.

But sometimes, you noticed that she would glance at you when she thought you weren't looking. And sometimes, she would ask you to stay after work and help her with some extra tasks. And sometimes, she would invite you to go to her office for a private chat.

You didn't know what to make of these mixed signals. Was she just using you as a convenient assistant? Or did she have some other motive?

One day, after everyone else had left the office, she called you over to her desk.

"Y/N-kun, can I talk to you for a minute?"

You walked over to her and nodded.

"What is it, Kiara-san?"

She looked at you with a serious expression.

"I need your help with something."

"What kind of help?"

She hesitated for a moment, then said:

"I need you to pretend to be my boyfriend."

You blinked in surprise.

"Your boyfriend? Why?"

She sighed and explained:

"There's this guy who's been bothering me for a while. He's one of the sponsors of Hololive. He's rich and powerful, but he's also arrogant and creepy. He keeps asking me out on dates, sending me gifts, calling me at night... He won't take no for an answer."

She shuddered and continued:

"He's coming to visit the office tomorrow. He said he wants to meet me and talk about some business. But I know he's lying. He just wants to get closer to me and make a move on me. I don't want to see him, but I can't refuse him either. He could ruin my career if I offend him."

She looked at you with pleading eyes.

"So, I need you to act as my boyfriend. If he sees that I'm taken, maybe he'll leave me alone. Please, Y/N-kun, will you do this for me?"

You felt a surge of emotions. You were shocked by her request, but also flattered that she chose you. You felt sorry for her situation, but also happy that you could help her. You felt nervous about the idea, but also excited by the possibility.

You had a crush on Kiara ever since you met her. You admired her talent and charisma, but also her hidden vulnerability and loneliness. You wanted to be more than just her co-worker, but you never had the courage to confess your feelings.

Now, you had a chance to be close to her, even if it was only pretend.

You looked into her eyes and said:

"Of course, Kiara-san. I'll do anything for you."

She smiled and hugged you.

"Thank you, Y/N-kun. You're the best."

She kissed you on the cheek and said:

"Let's go to my office and practice our act."

She took your hand and led you to her office.

You followed her, feeling your heart beat faster.

Maybe this was the start of something more than just a fake relationship.
