December 3rd
"Then, Mikayla laughed so hard, her drink literally shot out of her nose!" Y/N exclaimed as she thought back to the memory. She sighed. "It doesn't sound as funny now that I'm saying it out loud. I guess you just had to be there."
Mary smiled. "Wish I could've been," Mary tapped her fingers on the kitchen table as she watched Y/N pour two bowls of cereal. One for her and one for Mary. "They sound like fun people."
"Oh, they are," Y/N insisted. "Casey has been my best friend since my freshman year of high school. And, I met Mikayla and Krystal during my Junior year. It's actually a little embarrassing the reason we met though..."
"It can't be that bad," Mary stated.
"I don't know..."
"Whatever it is, I'm sure I've done something worse," Mary said.
"Ever done anything illegal?" Y/N asked.
Mary paused before quickly finding a way to avoid the question. "Have you?"
"Yeah," Y/N nodded. "So have Krystal and Mikayla. We met because of the illegal activities."
"Is that so?"
"I never said I was proud of it," Y/N began. "It was underage drinking. Not that bad, but definitely not that great."
"And, here I was thinking that you were responsible," Mary teased.
"Hey, I am!" Y/N defended. "I was at a party and everyone else was doing it, so..."
"Peer pressure?"
Y/N nodded. "I ended up drinking way too much - it was also my first time drinking, so that makes it even worse - and then I started to freak out. I came to the party alone, which was pretty dumb on my part. So, I had no one to help me through it. Next thing I know - just before I fell head first into the snack table - two girls showed up by my side and helped me collect myself. They stayed with me the whole night and walked me home...the rest is history."
Y/N chuckled as she grabbed the milk out of the fridge and moved away from the topic of Krystal and Mikayla. "Although, the fun didn't last that long. I got my ass handed to when I got home that night."
"Did your parents find out?"
"Duh!" Y/N giggled. "God, it was the worst! I walked in and my mom was sitting on the couch. Bless her soul, she thought I was sick. But, Dad...he saw right through it."

Silently opening the front door, Y/N prayed her parents would already be asleep. She would be absolutely fucked if they found out she had been drinking. She inched the door closed and almost jumped out of her skin when she turned and saw her mom sitting on the couch. Don't look drunk. The teen Y/N thought to herself.
"Hey, honey!" Tiana greeted with a warm smile. "Did you have fun with Casey?"
"Huh?" Y/N asked. Fuck. You dumbass. Clearing her throat, she remembered the lie she had told her parents in order to be able to actually go to the party. She was supposed to be getting ice cream with Casey. "Y-Yeah! Sssooo, so much fun!" Y/N's words slurred together, despite her attempt to appear perfectly sober.
"Oh dear," Tiana started. Y/N tensed up and immediately averted her gaze. She knows. "Your face is all red." I'm royally screwed. "Are you coming down with something?"
"I swear I- wait, what?" Y/N asked in confusion.
Standing up, Tiana made her way towards her youngest daughter and placed her hand on her forehead. Y/N held her breath, hoping the smell of whatever she had been drinking wasn't too strong. In all honesty, she didn't know what kind of alcohol it was. Only that its smell was enough to make her cringe and that it burned when it ran down her throat. "Do you feel sick?"
