Ch. 24 Leaving Isn't an Option

Jamie's P.O.V.
"He's lying!" I argue after hearing some bullshit from Drift.
"You know I can't lie," he argues.
Crosshairs, Jolt, and Ratchet, are on Drift's side. Claiming Sunstreaker wasn't the one who hurt me. Sunstreaker is the kind who would though and lie.
"You know if he hurt you, he'd be in the brig," Ratchet argues, "let her leave."
I know he means to leave the medbay, not go home, but I leave the medbay as they likely continue to talk about what happened.

I walk down the hall until I walk into Jazz.
"Hey, you need to relax. I have an idea. Get your phone and tablet. We'll go to my room and listen to music. I'm sure you've found new bands since we last listened to music together."
We stop by my room before going to Jazz's to get my stuff. I need to catch up on art prompts.

Jazz's P.O.V.
Anything to distract Jamie, plus she does find good music. I suspect I have much music to catch up on. I love how Jamie likes older music and more recent music. Though her more recent find is troubling. We've noticed that what Jamie listens to often reflects her mood. Several of these songs are about death. I like the sounds of the genre; symphonic metal, but I insist Jamie switch to another band she found, a rock band; KISS. This is much better to listen to as I watch Jamie work on art.

Three hours pass before there's a knock on my door. Figured it was Crosshairs and Drift.
The two mechs want Jamie to go down to the cafeteria for dinner. I know they talked to her, and it hurts seeing she doesn't even believe her guardians and best friends. She should know several Autobots and soldiers will be in the cafeteria. Sunstreaker would immediately be in trouble if he tried anything.

Jamie's P.O.V.
It's easy to be on my guard, ready to fight Sunstreaker; I worry about Crosshairs and Drift. They can fight, but Sunstreaker knows where to attack, so they don't have a chance to fight.... just like in my nightmare. Why the frag do they trust him?! He fucking tried to kill me.

Whenever I see Sunstreaker for the rest of the night, my nightmare and what he did to me haunt me. He's enjoying seeing a weak human frightened by his presence. My fears were about the battlefield and my condition. Now I have a fear of being at the base. I am still trying to figure out what to do besides return to my dimension at night, but then I have to deal with Jayce and J.R.

Sideswipe comes by asking to watch T.V. with us in the lounge room. If I refuse, I'll be told it's ok. Sideswipe is doing something with me. Now, I have no choice but to do what Sideswipe wants and be prepared for a fight.
It doesn't help Lightning and Knockout want to join us. I don't think I can hide my anxiety now. I lie and say I need to use the bathroom and leave the cafeteria.

Unfortunately, Ratchet was on his way to the cafeteria, and we cross paths.
"Jamie?! Are you ok?" He asks, worried.
I try to get past him, worried I will throw up, but Ratchet picks me up and walks to the medbay.

He puts me on a bed that has the head at a 90° angle and gets a bucket before I throw up. I feel dizzy after throwing up.
"Easy, you need to relax," I hear Ratchet say, "here, drink some water."'
I take the cup and drink slowly.
"Dehydration?" Jolt asks.
"No, severe anxiety. I'm giving her a small dose of relaxant."
Ratchet tells me what he will do before cleaning my arm and injecting the drug.
I didn't think he'd put headphones on my head and play music I like. I don't know how much time has passed before Crosshairs and Drift enter the room. I barely make out what they're saying until I eventually fall asleep.

Drift's P.O.V.
I knew she'd be anxious for a while, but not to the point that this would happen. We're talking to Prime tomorrow. Crosshairs, Jolt, and Ratchet, know what I will request, but don't argue. I'm allowed to take Jamie to our room.

Optimus Prime's P.O.V.
It's concerning Drift wanted a meeting early in the morning.
"Give her to me," Jolt insists the second he sees Drift carrying Jamie. The fact that Drift doesn't think Jamie will be ok waking up to another bot besides Crosshairs or Drift in the room is concerning. After hearing what happened last night and what Jamie has been through, I see why he doesn't want to leave her alone. Drift still lets Jolt take Jamie to the medbay.
"She's going to be dealing with constant anxiety. She needs to go home. I know it's not great there, but better than here," Drift argues.
"What?!" Sunstreaker interrupts.
Damn, Jolt, you didn't close the door all the way.
"We're taking Jamie away from here," Drift explains, "this was supposed to help her. Instead, she's afraid you'll hurt us!!"
It's hard to believe Sunstreaker does not like this decision.
"I thought we had a plan?" He asks, oddly calm.
"That was before last night!!" Drift yells.
"You do realize having Jamie leave won't solve the problem? You're just taking her away from the other Autobots who are her friends or want to be her friend," I explain, "and we'd have the same problem even if she came back six months from now."
"Do you want to try medication?" Ratchet asks, "though there's no way to know how long this will take-."
"No!" Drift yells.

Sunstreaker's P.O.V.
What can I say? Even if I wrote a note, Jamie wouldn't believe me. I know Crosshairs is thinking the same as Drift. Both tire of their friend hurting, but now there's no place to escape for her.
"Sunstreaker, you want to add to this?" Prime asks which angers Drift.
"I....look, you know how I hate humans, and I'd agree with you. I don't know what we will do about the anxiety, but Prime is right; you're taking an amazing human away from the others. Ratchet knows Jamie and how we can help. I want to be her friend, but we need to get her not to be afraid of me. I'll let you guys decide what we do."
I walk out of the office. I'm not going to bother seeing if Jamie woke up. I feel completely lost. Trying to make a friend is still new to me, but I shouldn't be surprised that my potential friend is scared of me. It's her thought that I hurt her that hurts the most. All I can do is hope we'll be friends...or at least Jamie can stay here without dealing with content anxiety; the question is how to achieve this?
