Sunstreaker's P.O.V.
Within a half-hour, I can tell Jamie's headache is hard to ignore. I'm not sure if I need to worry about complications or not. Jamie whimpers as I pick her up, disturbing her comfortable potion. She tries to get comforuuuuutable again while I'm carrying her."Ratchet? She has a headache. I don't know if I should be concerned it's serious," I explain.
Ratchet takes Jamie from me and goes to an exam room. I'm allowed into the room.
Ratchet confirms it's a headache rather than a delayed complication of the surgery. He has Jamie take over-the-counter pain relief. He gets a pillow and blanket. Letting Jamie rest in the exam room. I figured he'd tell me to take Jamie upstairs once she's asleep. The pain relief will kick in by then. He will let Crosshairs and Drift know. I sit on the chair in the room. Jamie takes a few minutes to get as comfortable as possible with this headache.
Drift: take her to your room.
Sunstreaker: Are you sure that's a good idea?
Drift: yes, I think she trusts you and won't be mad.
An hour passes before Jamie is asleep. I'm uncertain about this, but I carry Jamie to my room.Sideswipe smiles, seeing me walk into the room carrying Jamie.
Be quiet. She had a terrible headache. I tell him. Drift thinks Jamie being here is fine.
I lay Jamie on my bed and get my extra blanket. I can't resist sketching her. I'm not sure if I like Sideswipe leaving the room.Jamie's guardians didn't text me at all. They come by at one. Suspecting Jamie will wake up soon. They already got lunch for her and me. I shouldn't be happy they're here before Jamie wakes up. I should be thinking my friends came by with lunch rather than possibly dealing with Jamie being mad at me. I shouldn't even be thinking she'll be mad at me.
"Will you relax?" Crosshairs asks, "I don't think she'll be mad. I don't know if she thinks you two are friends yet, but she's not livid at you."
Like her guardians said, we didn't have to wait long for Jamie to wake up. She looks at me but doesn't get up.
"Come on, you need to eat."
Jamie isn't bothered I'm moving her onto my lap. It's hard to like this, knowing she's dealing with exhaustion.
We move to the couch and put the T.V. on. Drift gets the McDonald's he got for Jamie and me from his subspace. He removes everything from the bags and puts the items on the table. I'm more worried about Jamie eating than being ok with me. Would be great if I could get her talking to me.Jamie's P.O.V.
We watched T.V. for an hour before Sunstreaker asks if I want to work on the painting. I didn't think he'd smile because I said yes. Crosshairs and Drift are staying here. Sunstreaker isn't sure about that, even though he was ok with the two not being with us this morning.Like the last time, Sunstreaker sits on the floor, and I'm sitting on his lap, leaning on him, listening to his spark. For now, he's relaxed.
"I thought we were painting?" He asks, "you feeling ok?"
He's worried I have a fever, as he checks if I'm warm. He's still worried even with no fever but doesn't think he needs to take me to the medbay.
It's odd that Sunstreaker is uncertain about asking about my pets. Sounding worried he'll screw up. He relaxes and thinks we have a lot of paintings to do. He says nothing about going to my dimension to see the animals.
We sit for a half-hour, before getting back to our project. Sunstreaker shows me how to paint with the paint pens he got to paint when I had to rest upstairs. It's easier for both of us to be painting but harder to use than paint brushes. Both of us couldn't believe we finished the painting in ninety minutes.
"I'm not sure we have enough time to start another," Sunstreaker comments.
He picks me up and carries me out of the room. It's a short walk to the lounge room."Maybe T.V. for an hour?"
I nod, and Sunstreaker sits on the couch after grabbing the remote. I'm certain he's telling Sideswipe where we are.
We find something to watch. Sunstreaker puts his feet on the coffee table while I lean on him.
"Don't fall asleep. It's almost dinner time."The three mechs and Lightning walk in, smiling at what they see.
"Awe, cute," Sideswipe coos and takes a picture.
It's a relaxing hour until dinner. Sunstreaker is getting more relaxed.
Twenty minutes before five, the others decide to go to the kitchen to make dinner. It's odd that all four of them are leaving when one can make dinner for all of us.
"I didn't ask them to leave," Sunstreaker quickly defends, "but I... I want to ask, w-what do you think of our relationship?"
Sunstreaker is afraid I'm still livid at him and don't trust him.
"I will always be afraid anybot will be killed, especially my mechs and Lightning, but I am not mad at you. They trust you, so I can," Sunstreaker sighs. I think he was hoping to hear we're friends, "I'm sorry, I—."
"It's ok, I know what I did screwed up everything, and this will take time."
Tears roll down his face. He cries as I hug him. I can't tell if he hoped to hear we're friends or happy our relationship is better.
Once calm, Sunstreaker carries me to the cafeteria. We see the others walking out of the kitchen, carrying trays. We meet at the table. Sunstreaker sets me on the chair next to him.
Sideswipe talks about playing video games after dinner. I want to get back to watching what I usually watch unless this damn post-surgery fatigue is going to hit me. It's better than the headaches but still annoying.
"I have something to do, but I should be back before Sideswipe tires of losing," Sunstreaker informs us.
I don't sense anger, but slight anxiety. At least for now, I know he's not looking to kill. This doesn't mean I want Sunstreaker dealing with anxiety like this. I hope it's situational and will pass.
