Chapter 34*

"So who's Eleanor?" Genesis asks. She and Gael haven't even gotten the proper time yet to get back home and actually settle when she already asks the question. "I told you, someone, who begs me for money," Gael explains, shutting the front door behind them.

Marcus was going home immediately after bringing them home, so it's just Gael and Ginny at home. "You know what I mean," Genesis retorts, her eyes glued on him, trying to find something in his face that could give away that Eleanor meant more to him than just a girl who begs him for money.

It could be an eye twitch or an invisible smile, but if she noticed it, he didn't have to say it. "I told you," Gael explains. "You didn't actually," Genesis says, biting her lip, "Just like you didn't tell me about the warehouse, you didn't tell me about you still visiting strip clubs-"

Her tone isn't accusing, but Gael knows that she is. He follows her upstairs and then towards their room. "Some things that are normal for me are extraordinary for you," Gael explains, his eyes fixated on her to make sure that she doesn't lose control. "I just wish you'd talk more about these things," Genesis explains.

"Me not telling you about Eleanor wasn't a big deal though," Gael explains. "The strip clubs were," Genesis shoots back, immediately turning around, "And I can wear the fanciest lingerie but I'm still not sure if you're actually satisfied."

Gael listens to her and he narrows his eyes. "You're accusing me of cheating on you?" He rephrases her words and Genesis digs her fingers in her hair, turning her back to him again. "No," she hisses, frustration flooding her voice. "Then where else do you think I get my satisfaction if not from you?" He's never heard something worse coming out of her mouth and Gael's hurt that she'd even suggest that he cheated on her.

"When we were on the plane to Cabo for the honeymoon-" she starts and Gael already knows where the conversation is going. "You googled me," he finishes her sentence. "There was Gael Mayfield cheated on fiancée in the search bar," she says, biting her lip. "The fiancée was you and I was accidentally spotted with one of the women I used to go to," Gael defends himself.

Genesis doesn't hold him accountable for what he did before they were married, he didn't know her and she didn't know him. "Why didn't you just ask me?" Gael asks, taking her hands in his, hoping that'll calm her down. "I couldn't exactly talk to you because whenever I'd say hi you'd roll your eyes and insult me," Genesis says and she shrugs, looking up at him.

"That suggestion is obviously still bothering you and now I talk to you," Gael says, biting his lip, "I don't want to be with anyone else, you're more than enough for me, Ness."

His words bring relief to her stomach, but she's still anxious for all the things she's yet to find out after they happened.

"Do you still go to strip clubs?" She looks down at her feet, he told her not to worry about that because it was just a hobby and it wasn't that big of a deal, but Genesis doesn't see it that way and she wants to be honest with him now that he's inviting her to be honest. "No," Gael answers, "James, Jackson, and I weren't very comfortable with that."

"And Matt was? He has a child." The words fly out of her mouth before she has a chance to overthink them, but the judgment has already earned the girl a glare from Gael. "That's up to him," he says, breaking eye contact.

She doesn't say anything back to him. "Some things that I consider normal are extraordinary for you," he continues. "And I don't know what I can and can't talk to you about," Genesis explains. Gael pushes his lips together, he assumed she knew that she could come to him at all times to talk to him about anything but with what she's saying now combined with her previous insecurities, he's suddenly aware again that everything he's told her in the past hurt her more than he would've liked.
