Chapter 49*

Genesis wakes up. Two arms are still wrapped tightly around her and she starts to remember the details from last night. She wasn't drunk or on anything, but when she fell asleep she was desperate to forget everything Wayne related.

"Morning," Gael's raspy voice does the job perfectly fine and a happy smile creeps on her face. "Hey," she says, turning around to look up at him. His brown eyes are staring back at her, his hair is still messy and there are slight bags under his eyes.

Genesis places a hand on his cheek. "I missed you," she whispers. Gael really wants to lean down and kiss her again, but he's not sure if he should. "I love you," he assures her and he gathers all his courage to lean down and kiss her. The kiss is soft and he carefully moves his lips over hers.

She blushes and kisses him back. Gael pulls back and he looks at her. "Was that okay?" He asks, still unsure if he's moving too fast. "More than okay," Genesis says, carefully reaching up to him and she pulls him to her, kissing him again. This time, the kiss is rougher and hungrier.

She's missed him, she missed the way his skin felt on hers.

Gael hums against her lips, his hands resting on her waist. The shirt Genesis was sleeping in moved up just the tiniest bit, but enough for his hands to rest on her skin. His tongue brushes against hers and just the simple touch is enough for his mind to go into ecstasy.

He pulls away from the kiss, pulling her body closer to his. Genesis buries her face in his chest. "Fuck, I missed you," he says, "If we keep going, I don't think I'd stop." Genesis chuckles and she shakes her head.

"I'm so grateful for you," she says and she carefully climbs out of his arms. Gael watches her carefully and she puts on some skinny jeans. "I'm so not in the mood to do anything today," she whines, looking over at him.

Her birthday was tomorrow and if there's one thing Genesis isn't excited about, it's her birthday. Gael knows what day it is tomorrow, but he's not going to mention anything. "Well that's good because I'm going to be busy all day," he says, smirking as he keeps his eyes on her.

"Busy?" Genesis turns to him, unsure of what his plans are. "Yeah," Gael answers. "Plans with me?" Genesis asks, but then he shakes his head. "No, it's just something with Mattias," he adds, "Could you possibly watch Charlotte here today?"

Mattias was going to ask Genesis himself but he ended up not being able to because the topic was already brought up. "Where are you guys going?" Genesis asks, already hating the secrecy because of her birthday coming up. "It's not-" she stops herself, sure that he doesn't know about her birthday.

She walks out of the room, Mattias is already setting up a bag with things. She immediately notices the toys for Charlotte. "Are you guys going to stay away for a while?" She bites her lip, looking over at him.

The things he's brought for Charlotte don't exactly prove they'll be out for an hour, but more likely for the day. "Just today," he confirms her suspicions. Her lips thin and she goes to the kitchen area to get herself something to drink.

Genesis can't admit that she's not getting annoyed with Gael because of this, him just dipping now that she's starting to forgive him. Gael walks out of the bedroom, he's fully dressed in shorts and a colored button-up shirt. His hands find her waist and he pulls her to his chest.

She can't stay mad at him when he's acting like this.

"Where are you going?" she whispers, turning around to look up at him. "Just –" he pauses, not sure what to say. He can't spill his guts now, considering it's a birthday surprise for her. "I have to get something done," he answers.
