Chapter 29
Genesis gets out of the plane and she immediately puts a jacket on. Colorado is colder than Ginny expected, she thought the weather would be more similar to New York, but for some reason, fall isn't treating the area well. It might just be the wind that's colder, but Ginny came prepared with her jacket.
"I'm so done with planes for the next year," Gael complains and he walks down the stairs to the car waiting for them. Genesis glares at him. "You suggested visiting my parents on your days off," she says.
Gael's company is falling apart because of Johnathan and Gael's phone has been blowing up with people complaining to him. Especially Nate, but Gael wanted everyone to see that Johnathan needs to retire, his decisions are outdated and in the current time, they would ruin organizations.
In the time that Gael's been CEO, he's already made several changes that actually did benefit productivity and Gael managed to get some clients that Johnathan had lost over the years. If Johnathan fucks this up worse than Gael expects, Gael will just rebrand the entire company and set new rules with the same employees.
Gael offered to go visit them when they were in Bermuda, but he wasn't sure when they'd go. But then the second he got back and he saw the situation in the company, he knew he had to go.
The drive to the hotel isn't very long and Genesis is more than happy when she finally gets to her room and into her bed. "Are you nervous?" Gael recognizes the look in her eyes, she wants to go back home and not see her parents. "No," Genesis lies.
Genesis didn't have the chance to emotionally prepare herself for this trip, especially because they just got back from Bermuda less than two days ago and they've already traveled to the other side of the country.
"I just want to sleep," Ginny mumbles and she hugs a pillow, looking up at him. Gael checks the time, then he looks back at the girl. "I have dinner reservations with your parents in an hour, so get ready," he tells her and he disappears into the bathroom. Genesis looks up at him and she tosses her hair into a ponytail. "What?" She asks.
The girl jumps out of the bed and she walks to the bathroom, opening the door. "You heard me," Gael says, "I made dinner plans in an hour, get ready."
Ginny was supposed to see her parents on this trip, but she didn't expect to see them within the first three hours of being there. Especially not since she's still exhausted from the past few days. "You really didn't give me any time to prepare," she mutters, "My dad isn't exactly the best either."
Gael looks at her. "Ness, you'll be fine," Gael answers, at least her dad doesn't want to publicly take whatever it is she's worked for. Not that the girl has a career or a company like Gael has.
Genesis looks at him, reading the judgment in his face and she pushes her lips together. "Did I say something wrong?" Gael asks, pulling his t-shirt over his head so he can wear something nice to that dinner. "No," Genesis says truthfully, he didn't say anything wrong, but she knew that he was judging her sudden anxiety to see her parents.
Gael looks at her and he buttons up his white shirt, waiting for her to admit what's bothering her. "Ness," he says, but Genesis turns her back to him, refusing to talk about it, and she opens her suitcase. "Talk to me," he says, following her out, "I can't fix it if you won't tell me."
"It's nothing," Genesis lies and she shrugs, picking out her dress to wear. She picks out two and takes a quick glance at Gael to see what color he's wearing. His suit is a dark green with a white button-up under it. Ginny goes through the suitcase and picks out a pretty dark green dress that's just above knee length.
