Chapter 50

Luckily her legs weren't sore the next day. Luckily for Genesis, Gael felt a little ego bruise when he saw her skipping around the room. She was wearing a pastel blue dress, which looked like it was floating around her body, accentuating every single curve she had.

Gael told her they had plans, but he didn't say what. He just told her to dress in something nice. Genesis knows something's about to happen today, even though Gael doesn't know it's her 24th birthday.

"Listen," Gael starts, immediately catching Genesis's attention instantly. "I was the one who got you that necklace," he says, pointing towards the nightstand.

"I know," Genesis answers, her hands hiding behind her back, "And I also know you got me that wardrobe, and the books on the shelf." She didn't pay attention to the books that seemed to appear, but at one point the bookshelf was full. "Why didn't you say something?" Gael asks, biting his lip.

He expected her to notice it and actually mention it to him, but now that everything's coming down to it, he's not disappointed that she didn't.

"Because I didn't know what to say," she answers, "It felt like a buildup towards something, and today's that something." Gael's nose scrunches up because she found out something's happening today. "I'm taking you for a drive today, so let's have breakfast and then we can go," he says, grinning.

Genesis raises her eyebrows. "Oh?" She asks, looking at him. Gael smirks and he crosses his arms. "Am I overdressed?" Genesis looks at him, then down her body to look at the outfit. "No," he says, "You look incredible."

He gets out of bed after that, and he gets dressed into some everyday jeans with a white button-up shirt, they have breakfast together and then Gael takes her out to his car. With breakfast he tried to make it as normal as always, just some pancakes, tea and that's that. Genesis pretended that she didn't notice, but she knows that there was something going on.

She's so close to asking him what's going on, she's so close to asking him what exactly he's going to do with her. But he's not going to say anything.

Genesis gets in his car and she checks her phone, but she quickly slips it back into her purse when she realizes she didn't get any texts yet.

"Where's Matt by the way?" She looks up at him. Gael drives off the property and then onto the road. "He's out," he answers, "Just something with Charlotte." Genesis nods and she leans back, looking out the window as she recognizes the road they're taking. "Are we going to the vineyard?"

Gael nods.

"Oh my god!" She says, her eyes widened. Gael laughs and he lays his hand on her thigh, gently rubbing her skin with his thumb. "I won't drive the atv today, don't worry," he says, looking over at her, "My aunt just asked if we came over."

It's a lie. Well, the vineyard part is true, but Gael's aunt never asked them to come over.

He keeps driving, knowing exactly where he's going. "Relax, cariño," he says, looking at her. Genesis hasn't heard him call her that in a very long time, and her heart melts when she hears it.

Gael notices the reaction to the nickname and he smiles softly.

Genesis pays attention to the rest of the drive, making sure that she doesn't miss anything he could've done. Then he pulls up at the giant house and he gets out of the car, immediately walking to her side so he can open her door for her. Genesis allows him.

"Gael!" his aunt rushes out the door, "Your cousin said he needed you out back, Genesis can get some wine inside with me." She's speaking English, which is already surprising for Genesis. Gael glares at his aunt, she's almost giving away what's about to happen. She looks back at him innocently.
