edd and tom were relaxing on the couch, watching cartoons. tom had recently told edd he was a regressor, and right now, he was in little space. right in edd's arms. edd didn't mind though. he enjoyed being a caregiver, and besides, it was nice to have a small break from drawing all day.
after a few moments, tom started yawning like crazy. edd knew what this meant: tom needed to have a nap. but how would he be able to convince him to have a nap? he didn't really enjoy it all that much. could he just straight up tell him? no, that wouldn't work. tom would definitely refuse. soon, edd had a plan.
edd reached over to tom's tomee bear. he grabbed it and started talking in a silly voice. "tom.. i'm getting sleepy.." he said in the made up voice. "weally? me twoo.." said tom. see? he knew he was tired! "tom, i think i should go and take a nap.." said edd in the tomee bear voice yet again. "wha.. why..?" said tom, in a small sad voice.
when edd heard tom like that, he slowly felt bad. but he had to get tom to take a nap somehow. "did you hear him tom? tomee bear is gonna go and take a nap," edd told him. "he gon' go nini?" tom asked. "yes tom, he is indeed gonna go nini," edd replied.
that's when tom asked edd a question: "no wan' be without m'bwear.. wan' go nini twoo..?"
edd was shocked. he couldn't believe it actually worked! soon, tom would be having his nap!
"why yes tom, it'll be good for you since you're getting tired. your yawning a lot and your getting bags under your eyes. and besides, tomee would be all lonely without you in bed with him. so come on, come join him, why don't ya?"
tom instantly agreed to what edd had to say. "otay.." he said sleepily. edd then carried tom in his arms, and went off to his room.
at tom's room, edd grabbed a nice blue pair of footy pajamas for him. he took off tom's regular hoodie and pants and put the footy pajamas on him. he then found tom's favourite blue pacifier. that was something tom HAD to use during his sleepy time, or else he would just lay in bed and cry. edd put the paci in tom's mouth. he seemed satisfied.
edd then tucked tomee bear into tom's bed. tom immediately noticed, and crawled into bed with the stuffed bear.
edd then turned out the lights, but left a small night light on, to prevent nightmares. he even turned on a small music box so tom could hear a nice lullaby. tom was definitely getting more sleepy when each second passed. "mmm.. nini dada.." said tom. "goodnight baby boy," edd said softly as he kissed tom's cheek. "oh, and goodnight tomee bear." edd kissed tomee bear too.
soon, tom was fast asleep. edd had never expected his little plan to work, but it did. and now, he could finally have some time to himself for a bit.
