Kuuga was in Café Ciel Bleu working with Owner for help. Kuuga was making coffee for customer and Owner make curry rice for customer.
Owner: Kuuga-chan, I heard that Hiroshi-chan take kids to swimming trip for tomorrow.
Kuuga: Yeah, I know heard from kids.
Owner: Perhaps, you should join them.
Kuuga: I wish I want to but...
Owner: But?
Kuuga looked down and think while he makes coffee and sent his customer.
Kuuga: Thank you for your order.
Owner: Okay, I'll tell him that you join them.
Kuuga shocked.
Kuuga: What?! No!
Owner: Yes, you are. I didn't see you make sad face.
Kuuga: I didn't!
Owner: I go tell him now.
Kuuga: Wait! No! Mei stops him!
Mei was enjoying her food, paying no attention to Kuuga. He called out to her, but a few customers laughed at him. Kuuga gave up and the owner contacted Agasa, informing him that Kuuga would be joining him. The owner gave Kuuga a thumbs-up and a smile.
During the trip, Kuuga reluctantly joined them. Agasa took them to the hotel and they headed to the beach. Kuuga was not wearing a swimsuit; instead, he had on a black jacket and a purple scarf. The kids looked at Kuuga, puzzled as to why he wasn't wearing a swimsuit.
Kuuga: What's the matter?
Ayumi: Why aren't you wearing a swimsuit?
Kuuga: Why should I? It's just that I...
Mitsuhiko: Can you...
Genta: Swim?
Kuuga remained silent.
Haibara: If that's the case, why did you join us? You always wear black clothes, even to school.
Agasa: Well, calm down, everyone. I heard from the owner that he offered Kuuga a swimsuit, but Kuuga declined.
Conan: What kind of swimsuit was it?
Agasa: Just a regular swimsuit, like the ones you all are wearing.
Conan: But why are you refusing?
Kuuga: I have my reasons, and I'll go buy a new one. I have some money for lunch anyway.
Agasa: If that's the case, I can share some with you...
Kuuga: No need. Just go ahead. I heard there's a swimsuit shop at the reception, so I'll go there myself.
Ayumi: But...
Kuuga: Just go and enjoy yourselves.
Kuuga smiled at the kids, and though they looked hesitant, they agreed.
Kids: Okay.
The kids went off, including Agasa. Kuuga went on his own to find a swimsuit, while Conan and Haibara looked at him strangely, wondering why he didn't want to wear the one he had bought. Kuuga found a shop, purchased a long swimsuit, and went to the fitting room. He took off his clothes and revealed his body, full of scars. He put on the swimsuit and went to find Conan and the others.
Kuuga noticed Agasa and Conan carrying a bucket, but he also spotted Haibara lying on a chair.
