During winter, with snow covering the ground, the kids were walking to school when they noticed a group of girls who seemed both desperate and excited as they headed towards a cake shop. Kuuga watched them, finding their behavior very strange.

Kuuga: Why do people look desperate and happy to go to that shop?

The kids looked at Kuuga strangely.

Conan: Haven't you heard of Valentine's Day today?

Kuuga: I've heard people mention it, but I don't really know what it means.

Conan: It's just a holiday where people buy and give each other candies. It's a pretty silly holiday, so just ignore it.

Mitsuhiko: No, I heard that most girls give chocolates to guys, and the guys end up getting more chocolates.

Genta: Yeah!

Kuuga: Chocolates?

Genta: Yeah, I bet Conan is mad because nobody gave him any valentines.

Conan smiled but couldn't admit it.

Haibara: Well, Edogawa is right. Only people in Japan are crazy about making and giving away chocolates on Valentine's Day.

Kuuga: Is that true?

Ayumi: I've heard my mom tell me that story. Valentine's Day is important because it gives girls the courage to express their feelings through chocolates. That's why chocolates can be both sweet and bitter.

Kuuga: Really? Do chocolates taste sweet and bitter?

Ayumi: Yes.

Conan and Haibara were having a secret conversation while Kuuga were lost in thought, muttering to himself.

Kuuga: Yes, I didn't know about Valentine's Day or anything else that I've been missing.

Kuuga looked up and saw snow falling. He remembered the snow from the past, but his golden eyes grew a bit wider. However, he was interrupted, causing his eyes to stop glowing.

Ayumi: Conan and Kuuga, hurry up or we'll leave you here.

Conan/Kuuga: O-Okay.

After school, they decided to go home. Kuuga decided to go alone to Café Ciel Bleu, his home.

Kuuga: I'm home.

Owner: Welcome home.

Mei, the dog, went up to Kuuga and he patted her.

Kuuga: Hello, Mei.

Mei barked in response.

Owner: How was school?

Kuuga: Same as usual.

Owner: I see.

Kuuga: I'll go change and help you in the back.

Owner: You don't need to do that.

Kuuga went to his room and changed into his waiter uniform. The owner smiled at him.

Owner: He quite stubborn.

Mei barked.

Kuuga helped the owner in the café and took care of Mei by feeding her. While working, Kuuga noticed two customers, one offering chocolate to another.

Owner: Oh, someone confessing their love?

Kuuga: Love?

Owner: Yes, didn't you know? When a girl gives chocolate to a boy, it's a declaration of love. It's a romantic gesture.
