In a chilling flashback, an individual is plagued by a distressing nightmare. Within the dream, a mysterious mansion unfurls, its ominous atmosphere thickening. On the cold ground inside, a man lies sprawled, a foreboding trace of blood seeping through a tear in his sleeve. Clad in business attire, he tightly clutches a gun, introducing an element of eerie tension to the unsettling scene. Beside him, glasses lie scattered on the ground.
Suddenly, a foreign woman in black attire enters the scene, attempting to pick up the fallen glasses. Just as she notices a small child approaching, a voice echoes in the dream.
???: Who are you?
The foreign woman responds with a smile and a shushing gesture toward the child. Then, a voice echoes again.
???: Jodie-sensei... Jodie-sensei... Jodie-sensei!
Jodie, the dreamer, is shocked. The scene transitions, revealing that Jodie was the one having the nightmare. In reality, a college teacher name Professor wakes Jodie in an office room.
Professor: Are you all right? You look wiped out.
Jodie: Ah... Oh yes!
Professor: If those students are causing you more trouble than your students in America, you can always ask us for help.
Jodie: No, No! They're all good students! But soon, I'll be saying goodbye, so I'm very, very sad.
Professor: Huh?
Jodie and the professor entered the classroom where Ran and Sonoko were waiting. They informed all the students that Jodie would be leaving.
Student 1: Jodie-sensei, you're leaving us?
Student 2: Nooo!
Professor: I'm afraid Jodie-sensei has to leave our school at the end of this month. She's returning to the US for family reasons.
Jodie: Ahem! Though we have only a little time together, it makes me very happy to be able to study with all of you! I think maybe you'll face many hardships in the future, but you will, as you say, overcome them all! Good luck!
Jodie gave a thumbs-up to her students, and they exchanged good wishes. Ran and Sonoko were confused about Jodie's reasons.
Ran: Sensei...
Later on, Ran and Sonoko followed Jodie on the footpath in the cold city weather.
Ran: Say, Jodie-sensei!
Sonoko: Isn't it time you told us why you're quitting school?
Ran: What are these family reasons?
Jodie: Oh! That's all a big lie! To tell the truth... I finally found a precious treasure map... I've been searching for a long time! Then again, maybe I'm lying now too!
Ran: Treasure...
Sonoko: ...map?
Sonoko: Ooh! Maybe she's talking about a long-lost love!
Ran: Wouldn't that be the treasure, not the map?
Jodie walked away, leaving Ran and Sonoko behind.
Ran: Hey, wait!
Sonoko: You've gotta tell us more!
Jodie: No, no! I say no more! It's a secret! A secret makes a woman woman! Okay?
Sonoko: ...
Ran: Yeah... okay... but what a shame! I wanted my friend to meet you!
