The Golden Eye

Chapter 11

After Elaina agreed to help Alex and I figure out the history of the curse and how to destroy it, I laid on the floor scribbling notes down furiously. I wrote down all the ideas and methods on how to trick Fredrick, pushing my pencil so hard into the paper that it was covered in holes. My notes probably didn't make any sense, because in the background I heard Elaina and Alex giggling. I turned around to see Alex sharing head phones with Elaina and her saying things repeatedly like "I love this band" or "This song's my favorite" or "Wanna hear more about them?" I sighed and angrily stormed over and said,"What are you guys doing?!" Their smiles faded then Alex put his hands up in surrender and said,"I- I'm sorry, I just asked Elaina about the bands on her shirt and she let me listen to them." I rolled my eyes and said," I'm trying to figure out how to destroy the curse while you guys giggle and listen to music! Do you not realize how stressed I am?" Okay I'll admit it, I was jealous. Seeing how fascinated Alex was with my twin sister made me feel hurt and betrayed and it only made my love for him grow stronger. Alex put his hand on my shoulder and said,"I'm sorry Jonathan, why don't we just go to bed I think we all need to rest after this crazy night." I blushed but then nodded,"Okay I guess so." Alex took his bed, I took the couch and Elaina took the other couch. After my eyes finally closed Eliana said,"This is really uncomfortable I think I'm just going to share the bed with Alex." and she stood up and walked off with the floor creaking behind her. My face grew red with fury as my sleeping took over my body. Now I saw a vision, Fredrick in his dungeon, smiling. His minions were sat in chairs in the room, like a class room. Fredrick then smiled and said,"Okay class today we will be learning about how the golden eye gene entered the Wilter family. How this magnificent curse changed our kind." The minions applauded loudly then Fredrick flicked his hand and a screen appeared. There was a girl with dark, silky hair, it looked like all she ever did was brush it to get it to look like this perfection. She lay on a bed wearing a floral print shirt, a cotton sweater and a denim skirt. The room looked like it was around the 1940s. The girl was scrawling down some notes on a paper, she seemed to be gathering some sort of scientific theory. I realized she was figuring out a Punnett Square. Then a boy's voice appeared,"Whatcha' workin' on there miss?" This startled her and she fell off her bed and saw a boy that looked around 17 which was probably around her age, looking out her window. She opened up the window and curiosity and saw a boy with hair dark like her, wearing a worn out baseball cap, a fresh printed plaid shirt, and denim shorts down to his knees. I know this may sound like a typical kind of boy to you, but trust me he was incredibly handsome. He had a bright glowing smile with shiny white teeth and rosy cheeks. He had quite a glossy look to him. Then he took of his baseball cap and yep you guessed it, he had golden eyes. "Sorry to startle you there I was just curious on what you were workin' on." He said shyly. The girl's faced was red and she stuck out her hand and said,"Hi the name's Maya." He shook it saying,"Well, I'm Elliot." She shifted around awkwardly then said,"Oh um actually I'm working on sort of a thing, like gene discovering. Like how the eye color or hair color etc is determined in families. You see with my family, as far back as I can trace with history, we all have brown eyes and dark hair. It's quite peculiar." A worried look on Elliot's face appeared then he said,"Well my my that sure is neat, but um I must be leaving." Then he took off running. Maya did a jump out of the window and ran after him,"NONO PLEASE DON'T LEAVE!" The boy stopped in his tracks then said,"Why do you want to talk to me, usually everyone runs away from me with my golden eyes in all." "I wouldn't leave you, you're a very nice lad." Maya said giggling. Then the two of them walked off into the forest. Elliot was able to help Maya with her theory. Maya's eyes lit up and said,"How were you able to understand this theory, everyone I know says it's just gibberish." Elliot shook his head,"No it's not, it's pure genius." That's when Maya pulled Elliot into a deep kiss making his golden eyes twinkle. After a while Elliot pulled back and said,"You should know that being with me is quite dangerous I don't want you to get hurt, you're the first person I've ever trusted I just-" he said fearfully as Maya traced her finger down his leg then shut him up by saying,"Just be quiet it's all going to be fine, stop being such a baby." Elliot blushed and said,"I love you." Maya then smiled and grabbed his waist and they fell into the lake. There they mated, and Elliot's golden eye gene mixed with Maya's entire family. Once they got out Maya fixed herself up along with Elliot who shook nervously. Maya smiled and said,"Well yanno I better get home, you see we are moving tomorrow." Elliot's face turned pale,"Moving? Oh no where to?" Maya shrugged and said,"Somewhere far, far away." Elliot grew angry and said,"You don't really love me do you?" Maya laughed and said,"Of course not I just needed your golden eye gene so now I am able to experiment." Then Elliot froze and yelled out something in a language nobody could understand and everything shattered. I woke up screaming in terror.
