My eyes opened and my heart rate sped up as I gazed at the scenery around us. I was in an elegant bedroom, one those that the rich people in the late 1800s had. I was laying on a king sized bed, however the pink satin sheets were stained with my blood. I could hear faint Victorian music playing in a corner of the room. I didn't want to touch anything, the place was surrounded by cob webs. There was a large mirror across from me with intricate designs on the frame that I glanced into. Once I looked at my reflection I almost screamed but a hand covered in scars and faded red nail polish covered my mouth. I looked up and sighed in relief to see my twin sister next to me. She seemed oddly distrait, but leaned in and whispered,"Shh Jon be quiet." She removed her hand from my mouth and I whispered,"Where are we?" She sat on the bed, and winced when she saw the pool of blood around me. "After you fell asleep Alex picked you up and we carried you through the forest until we found this old abandoned house. We let you rest and Alex set off to find some supplies to patch all of us up." I blushed at the thought of Alex carrying me through the forest, but then El's weeping made me turn all my focus to her. She was sobbing into a pillow, and I was shocked. I've never seen her cry before, no matter how many times our parents spat at her and criticized her. I patted her shoulder,"Elaina what's wrong?" She looked up from the pillow and ran her fingers through my hair,"Jon! You could've died. I don't know what I would've done!"
"You'd have to suffer through Alex's nerdy jokes all by yourself," I chuckled.
She wiped her tear stained face with her shirt,"That would be terrible." She replied. We continued our banter for a while and soon her eyes weren't that red anymore and the tears on the pillow had dried. A loud bang surrounded the room which was followed by loud footsteps. Alex burst into bedroom carrying a bundle of supplies, panting with sweat. He threw the supplies down with a clatter and he jumped on the bed next to me. He touched my face and yelled,"Jonathan! Are you okay? I was worried sick about you, oh my gosh look at all the blood you must be in so much pain. Killing that animal sure wasn't fun but if that thing was going to hurt you, I sure as hell wanted it dead. I-"
"Alex please calm down, Jon is already in shock you aren't making him feeling any better." El mumbled, rolling her eyes. He blushed and whispered,"I was just really worried," and hugged me tightly. He didn't even need that supplies, that hug patched up all my wounds.
