"I see." Fredrick's voice boomed across the room. He told us to close our eyes. I really did not trust this Fredrick guy but I thought if I was gonna die, it might as well be with Alex. We closed our eyes and then a few seconds later Fredrick yelled," Open your eyes!" And we did slowly. Now we were in a dark room covered in old, black and white portraits of golden eyed people. "Here are people who shared the same fate as us. Although I was the first to ever experience the golden eyed gene. But for some reason we all have failed, and have kept some of our family alive to carry on the Wilter family name. That's why I need you, Jonathan Wilter to help us." He said and his finger touched my arm. It was icy cold. I needed to find a way to ask him more questions about this "fate" and more. I needed to destroy this curse.
I stared intently at the walls. Despite their golden eyes, all the faces had the same olive skin, dark hair, and regal faces. Suddenly, one of the pictures MOVED. It's face seemed to twitch and blink. Next, the face on the right moved. The whole wall seemed to move.
"A-Alex?" I stuttered.
I turned around and saw Alex following the same twitching pattern.
"ALEX?!" I screamed.
Then the floor beneath Alex gave away, and he started falling. The last thing i remembered was Fredrick waving goodbye.

"ALEX!" I sat up, screaming his name, awake suddenly.
"W-wha Jon what's wrong?" Alex asked.
