Alex stood over me, panting, his bloody weapon held stiffly in front of him. Everyone just stood, frozen in time.
El's mouth was open mid shriek, her own weapon held high above her head. A splatter of sickening blood had flung across her face, a slash of crimson against her pale skin. Her eyes wee squeezed shut, afraid that if she opened her eyes, she would see a dead me.
Alex had a kind of horrified look on his face, a cross between terror, pride, and I don't know what. A large pool of blood and bits of black fur covered his shirt. He stood there, slightly shaking, his eyes full of fear. But when he looked at me, the fear in his eyes doubled.
Tripled.
I couldn't physically see myself, but I had a pretty good idea. My arms and legs looked like they had been literally ripped open, and all I could see was blood. Everywhere. My vision was going blurry, and I felt a pooling liquid in my eyes. Tears.
Now I know there is this stupid saying that men don't cry, and who ever thought of that, you are an idiot. Pain is pain, whether it's emotional or physical, and I was going to cry if I wanted to.
My head was throbbing, matter of fact every bone in my abused body was. I felt my structure give in, and I crumpled into a little ungraceful heap on the cool forest floor. I suddenly felt the urge to throw up, despite having eaten nothing. I heard Alex's voice amidst the ocean sound in my ears, and I lifted my gaze up to him.
"Jon.....Breathe.....You have.....Just......Breathe..." was all I could make out.
I felt like like a wave of black was crashing over my head, and my body was being lifted from the floor. I felt myself being pressed against a sturdy chest, but I wasn't too sure. I wasn't sure of anything. I let out a little sigh, closing my eyes, and welcomed the darkness.
The last thing I remembered was the sound of Alex's voice, soothing me to sleep.
