Chapter 39

Approval

With Jang home, and my other friends free for New years, we decided to have a get-together. Just us, no girlfriends and no plus ones.

I traveled from the boundary of Aramac and Lanao to reach Tubod. Gusto nila Kalilangan Spring raw eh. Sumabay si Rahim at Frian sa akin.

"Jaq has already secured the spot in Kali," Rahim informed while he is on his Ipad. Drinking his coffee. Naka-hawaian polo shirt pa at shades. "Si Brett papunta na rin. Sila Solomon at Timothy susunod na lang daw. May ginagawa pa sila sa Camalan."

"Ayus-ayusin nila yang susunod na yan ah? Baka mamaya, hindi na naman yan matupad," I sighed.

Ilang beses na tong plinano. Hindi talaga natutupad kasi ang daming rason.

"Si Jang, Fri?" tanong ko sa pinsan kong nasa likuran lang. "Nasaan na?"

"Susunod daw siya," he shrugged as he fixed his fluffy fringed hair. Maling tao ata ang nadala ko eh. We grew up together but I can't still differentiate Frian from Rheese.

"Where were you these days?" biglang tanong sa akin ni Rahim. "I rarely see you."

"I'm in Palao..." sagot ko. "Nanliligaw ako. Ikaw? How's your suyo-process going?"

"Not good..." he shrugged.

That made me chuckle. Seeing him doing the suyo thing is really unusual. Like out of the character moment. Hindi niya ugali iyon pero ginagawa niya.

Pagdating namin sa Kali ay si Frian ang pinagbayad ko ng entrance fee. Sinalubong naman kami ni Jaq ng sabihin kong narito na kami sa labas.

"Master!" he jokingly called me like the old times. We fist-bumped immediately. "Man, you looked the same! Although lumaki ka ng konti. Which gym do you go to?"

I shrugged. "These are because of work, dumbass... Although I go to Yi's a lot."

"Yi's? May gym sila Jang?" he asked.

I smirked. The Chinese guy may be fooling 24/7 around instruments and stuff but he sure got some balls to throw when it comes to wealth.

"Parang hindi mo naman kilala yon..." Napailing ako at ngumiti.

We entered the spring. Marami-rami na ang tao dahil nga kakatapos pa lang ng new year. It's perfect, the water in the spring is continually flowing down to the deep pool papunta sa iba pang pool.

"Whose idea was it to pick this place? Rarami ang tao rito mamaya," Rahim whined.

"This is fine," napa-irap ako. "The water is cold and clear. The entrance fee is affordable."

"Can't we just rent the whole place?" Rahim suggested.

"Ay gagi ka," Jaq clicked his tongue and looked back. "Mas mabuti na yung madaming tao dahil maraming chics mamaya. Alam kong hindi na kayo lalandi pero maawa kayo, wala pa akong girlfriend!"

"Kung rerentahan mo yung buong lugar, malulugi ka," I smirked. "Hindi mo naman lalanguyan lahat ng pool rito. I even doubt if you're really going to swim."

"For Jaq's sake then," He shrugged.

I like the place. It's perfect for those who want to have fun and yet want to thrift as well. Maganda na rin to dahil nakakablend-in kami sa lugar. Well for me, at least I blend in with the place, kami ni Jaq, but my friend? No. He's standing out.
