*we made it to the location that the protest was happening so we got out of the truck and we stood up by a tree while we waiting for everyone else to arrive and they did after a few mins*
Hank:alright I want jay and ness over on the right side and Antonio and Erin on the left and Kevin,Adam in the front and me and Kim will take the back
Jay:copy that
*me and jay started our walk over to the right side when a small girl ran into me*
Ness:oh are you ok ?*looks down*
*I look down at the small girl and she was covered in bruises*
Ness:hey what's your name ? *bends down to her level
?:scarlett *says shyly*
Ness:hi Scarlett I'm Vanessa but people call me ness!
Scarlett:who's that ? *points at jay*
Ness:that's my partner detective Jay
Scarlett:are you guys are friends ?
Jay:yeah we are !
Ness:can you tell me where you got those bruises Scarlett ?
Scarlett:my daddy
Ness:*looks at jay* what do you mean Scarlett ?
Scarlett:my daddy hit me this morning *starts to tear up*
Ness:don't cry ! Your ok now Scarlett ! *hugs her*
Jay:where is your daddy now ?
Scarlett:idk but I don't wanna go with him ! *says scared*
Ness:you don't have to ok ! *smiles* your safe now
Jay:how about you come over and meet some of our friends ?
Scarlett:ok !
*I held Scarlett's hand and we walked over to sarge,Adam and Kevin *
Hank:who's this ?
Ness:this is our new friend Scarlett !
Scarlett:hi ! *waves*
Hank:*notices the bruises and gives me a glare*
Scarlett:how about you stand over there with jay for a minute ok ?
Scarlett:ok !
*Scarlett goes over with jay*
Hank:what's going on ? Is she getting abused ?
Ness:yeah by her father !
Adam:where is her father ?
Ness:idk she wouldn't tell us cause she was to scared she said she didn't want to go back with him
Hank:k can you see if she can tell you what he was wearing so we can get this prick in cuffs
Ness:yeah I'll try !
*I head over to Scarlett and I sit down next to her on the bench*
Ness:how old are you Scarlett ?
Scarlett:5
Ness:wow ! That's so cool
Scarlett:I'm almost 6 tho my birthday is in 5 days !
Ness:Omg that's so cool !
Scarlett:IK !*smiles*
Ness:so Scarlett ? What was your daddy wearing this morning ?
Scarlett:a burgundy hoodie and black jeans
Ness:does he have glasses ?
Scarlett:nope
Ness:what colour is his hair ?
Scarlett:he don't have any *laughs*
Ness:ok ! Thank you sweetie !
*I head over to sarge*
Ness:her dad is bald with a burgundy hoodie on and black jeans no glasses
Sarge:alright I'll tell Antonio and Erin to keep a eye out

*I head back over to Scarlett and I sit down on the bench with her*
Scarlett:when's your birthday
Ness:my birthday is in a couple weeks why ?
Scarlett:just wondering
Ness:what did you ask for your birthday ?
Scarlett:I really wanted a Barbie camper
Ness:I love Barbie campers ! I used to have one
Scarlett:really !
Ness:yeah
Scarlett:I also asked for a new Barbie doll
Ness:that sounds like a such a cool gift
Scarlett:yeah !
Ness:do you live with your mommy to ?
Scarlett:no ! My dad said she's in a better place called heaven
Ness:I'm sure she is !
*as we are talking I got a radio saying that Scarlett's dad was in custody so I headed over to sarge while jay stayed with Scarlett*
Ness:hey ! What do you want me to do with Scarlett ?
Ness:how about you and Kim head back to the district with her
Ness:ok
*I head over to Kim and she was talking to Scarlett with jay*
Ness:hey Kim wanna head back to the district with me and Scarlett ?
Kim:yeah of course
Ness:come on Scarlett !
Scarlett:*grabs Ness's hand* where are we going ?
Ness:we are going to the district where we work
Scarlett:ok ! *smiles*
*we head over to Adams jeep cause it was the closest and Kim had the keys and we drove back to the district and when we arrived we headed inside*
Trudy:who's this cutie ?
Ness:this is Scarlett
Trudy:hi Scarlett! I'm Trudy
Scarlett:hi !
*we head upstairs and I sit her down in the break room and I give her a colouring book and some crayons and I go out and stand by my desk*
Ness:should I call children's services?
Kim:yeah !
Ness:do you want to ?
Kim:yeah of course
Ness:k I'll go with Scarlett
*I go back in the room*
Ness:wow ! Your doing such a good job
Scarlett:thank you !
Ness:listen Scarlett I wanna tell you some things that are going to happen soon ok
Scarlett:ok
Ness:so one of my good friends Jessica is going to come and she is going to bring you to a really big home with lots of Other children your age you get to hang out with and your going to stay there until they find a nice man and woman to come get you and bring you to there home
Scarlett:but why ?
Ness:cause you can't live all alone !
Scarlett:why can't I live with you ?
Ness:it's a bit more complicated then that sweetie ! But I wish I could *smiles*
Scarlett:will you at least come visit me ?
Ness:oh my goodness yes ! And me Jessica has my number so if you ever wanna call me you can ok !
Scarlett:ok !
*I decided to stay in the break room and colour with Scarlett and after Kim came in and said that Jessica was here*
Ness:alright come on Scarlett let's go meet miss Jessica
Scarlett:ok !
*I held Scarlett's hand and we walked downstairs and we went in the Spare room where Jessica was sitting down*
Jessica:hi I'm Jessica ! You must be Scarlett *smiles at her*
Scarlett:hi ! *waves*
Jessica:so Scarlett has Vanessa told you anything about what's going to happen ?
Scarlett:yes !
Jessica:alright well are you ready ?
Scarlett:yeah but some of my things are at my house
Ness:I can go get some stuff and bring it to you later ok ?
Scarlett:ok !
Ness:thanks again Jessica for coming !
Jessica:no problem! Just doing my job *smiles*
Scarlett:bye Vanessa ! *hugs her* I'm gonna miss you
Ness:I'm going to miss you to but I'm going to see you later tonight and jessica has my number if you ever wanna call
Scarlett:ok
*Jessica left with Scarlett and I headed back upstairs*
