Next morning
Oakley had a towel around her as she wiped the steam from the mirror. Her bright eyes looked back at her as she pushed her wet hair over her shoulders. It was really sinking in now, she was pregnant. While she wasn't an expert, her calculation put her due date sometime during January. Kayce had been excited when Oakley told him that, seeing as his birthday was in January.
The bathroom door rolled back as Kayce walked into the room.
"Good morning," Oakley said, smiling as Kayce came up behind her and wrapped his hands around to rest low on her stomach.
"Morning," Kayce pressed his lips against Oakley's shoulder, letting his teeth scrape gently against her skin before he tucked his chin over her shoulder. "Why didn't you wake me?"
"You looked too peaceful," Oakley smiled, her hand resting on top of Kayce's against the towel. "I wanted you to get as much sleep as you needed."
"You didn't sleep much last night either," Kayce pressed a kiss to Oakley's neck. "You smell good."
"Neither of us really got much sleep last night," Oakley giggled. "But I can say that if I wasn't pregnant before, there's no way in hell I wouldn't be after last night."
Kayce turned Oakley around in his arms, pulling her in for a full kiss. Ever since Oakley had told Kayce she was pregnant, he hadn't been able to keep his hands off her.
Kayce pushed Oakley back against the sink as her hands moved up to tangle her fingers in his hair. He reached down and started to pull her towel up, over Oakley's hips.
"Dad!" Tate's voice rang out. "We gotta go!"
Kayce growled against Oakley's lips before breaking their kiss.
"Let me go teach him how to feed Lucky," Kayce sighed.
"I think we can make it," Oakley bit her lip, pulling her towel back around her since it had moved with Kayce's hands.
Kayce's eyes dipped down and back up Oakley's body.
"I love you," Kayce said.
"Love you more," Oakley smiled.
She had taken a pregnancy test yesterday morning when Kayce left to go grab Tate. Oakley was almost a week late on her period, but until she saw those two pink lines, she thought it was something just off with her. She then took another test and saw the same positive results. She'd call her doctor tomorrow and make an appointment.
After getting ready for the day, Oakley walked downstairs and into the kitchen. She gathered everything she needed to make pancakes, mixing the batter, and then grabbing some fruit to cut up. A few minutes later, Kayce and Tate got back.
"Hey," Oakley glanced over at them. "Pancakes sound good?"
"I'm starving," Tate smiled and sat on one of the barstools.
"Good," Oakley turned on the stove. "How was Lucky?"
"He's been fed," Tate said as Kayce walked up to Oakley and rubbed on her lower back.
Oakley looked up at Kayce who smiled at her. Oakley smiled at Kayce, feeling her cheeks blush as she poured the first few pancakes on the stovetop.
"What's with you two?" Tate asked.
"Nothing, buddy," Kayce leaned in and kissed Oakley's cheek before walking behind her to pour him some coffee.
Kayce and Oakley had decided last night they weren't going to tell anyone until after they had met with Oakley's doctor. And they wouldn't tell anyone outside of close family until Oakley was in the safe range of her pregnancy. Not that Oakley's list was long by any means.
