Oakley was snuggled up into Kayce's side, her nose pressed into the crook of his neck as she tried to will herself back to sleep. It was Saturday and all she wanted to do was lay here with him. Her eyes danced across the freckles on his shoulder in the light coming in from the window.

But when she felt his hand rub up and down her back under her sleep shirt, she knew he was up.

"Good morning," Kayce's voice was rough.

"Good morning," Oakley wrapped her arm tighter around his chest. "Quick...go back to sleep."

"Can't," Kayce chuckled. "Dad will be here soon."

"So?" Oakley groaned.

"So, we need to be down there," Kayce squeezed her hips. "Guy hasn't been here in three weeks...he's gonna want to talk. And probably see his grandkids."

Oakley pulled her head out from where she was most comfortable and looked at Kayce. He had a sleepy smile on his face as he pushed some of Oakley's hair behind her ear.

"Or we could send Tate down with the twins and you could stay here...with me?" Oakley ran her hand behind his neck with a smirk, leaning her lips close to Kayce's. "We can at least make out until the twins start crying."

As if on cue, a cry was heard down the hall. Oakley groaned again, but let Kayce roll her onto her back. His lips pressed against her pout before he sat up.

"As tempting as you are to me...let me go see who it is," Kayce stood up and Oakley watched him walk out of the room.

She sat up, her arms stretching up and hearing small pops along her spine. A few minutes later, Kayce walked back in with Evelyn in his arms.

"Could have told you that," Oakley eyed her daughter. "Of course, it was you."

"Be nice, Momma," Kayce laughed as he got back into bed with her. "She was just missing her daddy."

Oakley leaned into his side and smiled down at Evelyn.

"Hey baby girl," Oakley clicked her teeth and heard Evelyn coo up at them both.

"Look at this," Kayce reached up and pushed her little hat back from her forehead.

Evelyn's hair was so light when she was born, both she and Lee had light little hair. Oakley had been convicted they would both have Kayce's hair. But looking now, each tiny little strand on her head seemed to have some richer redness to it.

"Maybe she will be your girl?" Kayce murmured.

Oakley leaned in and kissed Kayce, hearing Lee start to wake up.

"Grandpa has met the twins, right?" Tate asked as he watched Oakley pack up a bag of their things to take with them down to the main house.

"Yeah, at the hospital," Oakley glanced at him. "You were there, remember?"

"Oh yeah," Tate leaned against the bed. "Just been a while."

"I know, buddy," Oakley zipped up the bag. "They'll be a month old here in a few days."

"I'll be twelve in June," Tate smiled up at her.

"Don't remind me," Oakley eyed him. "I wanted you to stay ten forever."

"Hey," Kayce walked back into the room. "Twins are loaded, y'all ready?"

"Yes," Oakley put the bag over her shoulder as Tate rushed out.

When she walked past Kayce, he grabbed the bag from her and placed it on his shoulder. Oakley shook her head but kept walking.
