Author's Note - Early post because I didn't think I would be able to post tomorrow. Enjoy chapter two!

Oakley opened her eyes, seeing that it was still dark outside. She could feel Kayce behind her, one of his arms casually thrown over her body, telling her it was even earlier than when his alarm would normally go off for work. As gently as she could, Oakley moved from under Kayce's arm. She carefully got out of the bed and walked over to the bathroom.

After sliding the door shut, Oakley flipped on the light and walked over to the mirror. She splashed some cool water on her face and then started brushing her teeth. As she spits into the sink, Oakley heard the door slide open and saw Kayce standing there.

"What're you doing?" Kayce's gruff voice bounced off the tiles as he rubbed his eye with his hand.

"I couldn't fall back asleep and I needed to get up anyways," Oakley smiled, glancing over her shoulder at Kayce. "Go back to bed, baby."

"Come back with me," Kayce yawned, his eyes were sleepy, but Oakley saw them graze down her body.

"I promised your dad I'd meet him up at the house before he left to campaign for the day," Oakley walked over to Kayce, her hands running up his chest. "But I would much rather go back to bed with you."

"Why are you meeting him?" Kayce asked.

"I don't know," Oakley shrugged. "He asked me."

"Want me to come with?" Kayce pulled Oakley into his chest.

"I'm okay," Oakley looked up at him. "I'm not expecting to stay long. He said the car is taking him at six thirty to the airport."

Kayce's hands wiggled their way under Oakley's sleep shirt and massaged her hips. Oakley ran her hands up and down Kayce's arms as he scratched along her spine.

"Kayce..." Oakley smirked but wrapped her arms around his neck.

"Just sayin' good morning," Kayce leaned in and pressed his lips against Oakey's jaw.

He then kissed below her ear as his hands moved up her sides, bringing her shirt along with them. Oakley caught his hands and pushed them down, shaking her head at him.

"I'll see you later," Oakley reached up to hold Kayce's chin, turning his face to the side so she could only kiss his cheek.

"Okay baby," Kayce smiled as Oakley walked around her.

Oakley quickly changed into a pair of jeans and one of Kayce's hoodies. She rubbed her eyes again, trying to wake up.

Kayce watched her pick up her ring and slide it on her finger. This time Oakley forced herself to not think hard about it and walked to the bedroom door. But that didn't mean the ring wasn't heavy on her left hand. She turned around and saw Kayce still leaning back and watching her, distracting her thoughts. Oakley bit her lip, having a hard time leaving him.

"I can't," Oakley sighed dramatically, making Kayce laugh.

"Come have lunch with me today," Kayce pushed his hair back. "Your truck has a new tire now and I'm just making phone calls today."

"Okay," Oakley agreed in a second before turning on her heel.

She walked up to the snowy path to the main house, the lights on and the smell of coffee in the air when she rushed in. Oakley shook her shoulders and hung up her coat before making her way into the den where she knew John would probably be.

John was already in a dark suit, reading over the paper with a cup of coffee in his hand. There was another mug in front of the chair next to him. Oakley smiled, walking in.
