"If you don't come out of that fucking room, I will drag your ass all the way back to the ranch!" Beth called out for Oakley to hear inside the dressing room.
"I said give me a minute!" Oakley yelled back.
Oakley turned and looked into the mirror in front of her. Beth had accompanied her to Dillon for the final dress fitting before the wedding in ten days. Oakley turned to the left and right, looking over the delicate lace detail that tiered down her figure.
The square neckline connected the sleeves by a gathering at each shoulder, the fabric flowing down to her elbows softly. When Oakley had first tried it on, it was slightly big on her in the chest region and way too long. But now, it looked more like how Oakley had envisioned it. It hugged her waist beautifully and captured the vintage part of the old West in her soul...in a modern comfort form.
Oakley felt pretty, and it was a different feeling for her looking back at herself. Not that Oakley thought she was hideous, but she had never seen herself look like this before, and her hair or makeup wasn't even done.
"Oakley!" Beth called out.
Rolling her eyes, Oakley turned around and swiped the curtain back. The glare she sent Beth was met with shocked blue eyes from the blonde sitting on the couch waiting. Beth had a glass of champagne in her hand but slowly set it down as she looked at Oakley.
"Be nice," Oakley took a deep breath. "Because I really like it."
"Fuck, Oakley...I'd marry you," Beth smirked.
The associates around them gave distasteful glances to the two women in the middle of the shop but Oakley didn't care. Oakley bit her lip as she walked over to Beth who stood up.
"Give us a turn," Beth motioned with her finger for Oakley to spin.
"What do you think?" Oakley asked as she faced Beth again.
"You look beautiful," Beth smiled. "I think you just might knock my brother unconscious."
"I don't know about that," Oakley slid her hands along the fabric around her hips. "But I do think this will do."
"Miss. Dobson?" One of the associates walked up. "How do we feel about the alterations?"
"Fits like a glove," Oakley smiled.
"Perfect," The woman nodded. "And this is going home with you today or are we delivering it?"
"It's going home with me," Beth answered.
"Okay," The woman made a note on her tablet. "Once you're back out of it, we will box it up so there's no wrinkles and we will also have your veil ready too. Then it's just sign off and you'll be good to go."
"Thank you," Oakley smiled.
The woman walked off and Oakley took one more look in the three large mirrors. Beth walked up behind her and wrapped her arms around Oakley. The two women smiled into their reflections.

"I do have to ask you an uncomfortable question," Oakley looked over at Beth as they headed back to the ranch.
"No, I will not give you the wedding night talk," Beth asked from the passenger side. "If you haven't figured out how to have sex now, then you're a lost cause."
"Beth..." Oakley had to bite her tongue to keep her from smirking at the irony in Beth's statement and what Oakley was doing later today.
"What?" Beth sighed.
"Did you pull Jamie's invitation for the wedding?" Oakley asked, focusing on the road.
"Yes," Beth said.
