"Do you have to wear the badge?" Oakley asked.
"I do," Kayce said as he finished looping his belt around. "I do hold an office, you know."
"You'll hold a lot more tonight wearing that," Oakley rolled her eyes and looked back in the mirror at her hair.
"What am I holding now?" Kayce looked up at her.
"A lot of women's stares," Oakley finished her last curl and turned off the wand.
"What is it with a badge and women?" Kayce asked with a smirk. "Randle told me once that he work on a call-up in Missoula and had all these university girls walking along with him because they either had a daddy complex or were interested in his handcuffs."
"You wanna be in deeper water?" Oakley raised an eyebrow at him. "Cause you can keep talking about this if you do."
"Just trying to figure out what to say to make you happy, darlin'," Kayce swallowed. "We all know you're the prettiest girl in Montana."
"Come on," Oakley went to walk past him. "We said we'd be there; I don't want to be late."
Kayce reached out and held Oakley's arm, bringing her back against his chest.
"I'm only looking at you," Kayce whispered to Oakey.
"And this large belly?" Oakley rolled her eyes.
"The one growing my children?" Kayce leaned his lips down to Oakley's. "Yeah, only one I'm looking at."
Oakley kissed Kayce's lips sweetly before she walked over and slipped on her booties. She had somehow gotten a pair of tights over her legs, and it turned out to help with holding the babies up against her more.
"Tate!" Oakley called out as she and Kayce made their way downstairs.
Tate was waiting for them, dressed in a pair of black slacks and an ironed button-down Oakley had laid out for him after school this afternoon.
"What's with your hair?" Kayce asked him.
"Oakley told me to brush it back with some water," Tate pointed at Oakley.
"It's getting too long, and he won't cut it," Oakley pulled on her coat. "So, this was our compromise."
"Why won't you cut your hair?" Kayce asked, handing Tate his coat.
"Don't want to," Tate shrugged.
"I'll take you next week," Kayce opened the door.
"I don't want to," Tate walked past him.
"I'll take him," Kayce mentioned to Oakley who was smirking at him. "What?"
"He doesn't want to," Oakley said.
"But you want it cut," Kayce let Oakley pass him.
"I do," Oakley waited for Kayce to lock the door. "But I want him wanting to be like you more...so we can wait a bit."
"Be like me?" Kayce wrapped his arm around Oakley's shoulders as they walked to the truck.
"And I want you to keep being oblivious to things because I find you really cute when you are," Oakley smiled up at Kayce.
Oakley stopped near her door and faced Kayce, Tate was already inside the truck waiting.
"I don't want to stay too late," Oakley played with the zipper on Kayce's jacket. "It's a school night for Tate, regardless."
"We'll know before it gets too late," Kayce rested his hands on Oakley's bump. "But whenever you wanna leave baby...just tell me."
"You ready for this?" Oakley asked.
