"How about lunch?"

I paused from typing. Nilingon ko ito.

He was still in his corporate attire. Obviously, he came from a business meeting.

He arrived here fifteen minutes past 11 in the morning. Nagulat nga ako sa pag bisita niya. Wala kasing pasabi. May hinahabol akong reports for this afternoon's board meeting.

His hair is still tamed. He looked so fresh even in the mid day. His lips pursed as he looked at me cutely like a puppy.

Then he put some untamed strands behind my ear.

His eyes flickered in delight and adoration as he watched my face being shown more.

Charot!

He pulled his chair closer to mine.

"Hmm, it's quarter to twelve. Bawal magpalipas ng gutom."

In the end, I left my work pansamantala para ientertain muna siya habang hinihintay namin ang inorder niyang food.

Those were the normal lunch breaks for us.

He's the busiest man I have ever witnessed kaya kapag stressed na ako, pinupuntahan ko siya dahil gustong gusto ko siyang panoorin. Char!

I sighed heavily at that memory.

The soft glow of moonlight filtered through the curtains, casting a gentle illumination on the room. Hadzri laid beside me, his rhythmic breaths creating a steady cadence that resonated in the quiet space. The room was enveloped in a calm stillness, yet my mind is buzzed with thoughts that refused to be silenced.

Talaga bang... ganoon nalang iyon?

Hindi ako matahimik.

I shifted slightly, my gaze lingering on Hadz's peaceful face as he slept beside me. The warmth of his presence should have comforted me, but an unsettling frustration clawed at my chest. We had become entangled in a dance of uncertainty, a fling without a label, and I couldn't shake the desire to move beyond this ambiguous state.

Did I realize everything too late?

I groaned inside my head.

In the hushed atmosphere, I grappled with the disappointment that had settled within me. The chemistry between us had been undeniable in the beginning, marked by shared laughter, late-night conversations, and lingering glances that spoke volumes. However, as time passed, our connection seemed to dwindle into the shadows of undefined emotions.

I gently closed my eyes as moments with him flashed before me.

Every time we eat... kapag paborito ko ang pagkain... ay hindi ko maiwasang mawala sa sarili. I'd act like a child devouring her favorite food on her birthday.
