"Now, it's time for Alexopoulos vs Stone!"
The Serpent Queen was next for another match. Her opponent was last year's All Valley Champion, Xander Stone from Topanga Karate. Two reigning champions of two different sports against each other. This would make for a good match.
While Phoebe and Johnny stood on the sidelines of the mat waiting for Xander to arrive for the match, the feedback on Daryl's microphone screeched. As it turned out, Xander had did a couple flips onto the mat and had the microphone in hand and stood next to the announcer on the main mat. Everyone in the arena saw this including his next opponent and her Sensei.
"Yeah! I love you, Xander! You're my boy!" A woman shouted from the audience. Sitting right next to Amanda LaRusso was Xander's mother, Patricia, decked out in blue and extremely wild blue glitter makeup and blue highlights in her hair in support of her son.
"I just wanted to say, even though I love to fight, we all need to fight together against hatred. And as I look around this arena, I pray for every race, religion, and gender that we can all live together in peace. Please join me in a moment of silence as we strive to end intolerance in our time." The reigning champ said to the entire arena.
Every single person bowed their head in silence. Offering some advice, Johnny whispered to her knowing full well she was able to do as her was telling her to do, "Hey, kick that pansy bitch in the face."
Phoebe quietly chuckled, "Yes, Sensei."
After a few more seconds of silence, Daryl snatched the microphone back, "All right, let's get this match underway!"
Xander moved off the mat and flipped onto the quarterfinals mat that he would fight Phoebe on.
The Cobra stared at him unimpressed. He thought himself a hot shot by being the 'only one' able to incorporate gymnastics in karate. As there was she and Kayla, though Phoebe counted her in that moment as she was the former reigning champ. The girl told Xander as much when she stepped onto the mat. "Reigning All Valley Gymnastics champ vs reigning All Valley Karate champ. Oh, I wonder who will win?"
Xander seemed shocked by this, but he quickly hid it and focused on the fight heading his way.
"Fighting positions!" The two reigning champions got into their fighting stances. "Fight!"
Xander immediately went in for a powerful kick, which Phoebe blocked. He kept throwing punches and kicks at her, which again she all blocked and ducked under. Phoebe heard Johnny yell at her in the background for her to attack.
She was attacking in a way, she kept dodging and switching to sides to make Xander dizzy. When she bent back to avoid a punch, she kept arching her back. Phoebe's hands were falling towards the mat, in a sort of bridge position, but it wasn't, as her hands went down, her legs and feet went up and she delivered a powerful uppercut style kick to Xander. Due to being spun around like a record, when he went in to punch her, he lost his footing and stumbled forward a little, which gave the cobra the perfect opportunity to do the kick.
Phoebe's legs didn't stop, they continued to fly up in the air over her own body, until they reached the mat and she pushed up with her hands, so she simply crouched on the mat. She did exactly what Johnny asked her to do, she had kicked Xander in the face, which was allowed as Miguel had used the crane kick with the same effect earlier.
"Point, Alexopoulos."
The badass Cobra dojo all stared in shock and awe at Phoebe for a few seconds before erupting in claps and cheers just like the audience and Phoebe's family and Moon.
"Fighting positions! Fight." The Ref quickly moved out of the way when the two competitors met in the middle again.
The next round in the fight, Phoebe went on the offensive. The best defence was more offence after all. She kept coming at him with a flurry of punches and kicks.
