The beach was packed with people of all ages, but it was mostly young people using the weather as an excuse to show as much skin as possible. They were lying on the beach catching the rays of sun to tan. Older couples and friend groups walked along the beach, kicking up the sand as they went. Children made sandcastles with buckets and spades and splashed about in the water. Many of them also eating ice cream as their parents fussed around them with sun cream. Seagulls squawked while flying high above in the air.

Phoebe, Hawk, and Demetri played volleyball on the beach far from the water as Phoebe didn't want to get wet. She wasn't a fan of the beach in general. The thought of sand getting everywhere just put her off. Though, the beaches back in England were just very rough and rocky. The sand in-between her toes felt the complete opposite.

The drive from Demetri's house to the beach wasn't as awkward as one would think. Demetri made small talk and Hawk replied with one word answers due to still being convinced that he sent the email. The only person feeling slightly chatty was Phoebe.

The trio left their things at one of the posts of the net. Hawk realised that his sunglasses went missing, however he found them on Phoebe's face. She had took them and happily wore them.

Hawk stood shirtless on one side of the net alone as Miguel hadn't shown up yet, while Phoebe and Demetri stood on the other. She went with her cousin simply because he was absolutely terrible at the game.

The queen of the dojo served the dark orange ball that ironically had the Cobra Kai logo on it, and hit it over the net. Her boyfriend hit it back over. The ball went back and forth a few times avoiding the sand completely when it was heading towards Demetri and he tried to hit it back, however he missed completely.

Demetri picked up the ball as it was his and Phoebe's turn to serve again. He cracked his neck and served it. Only the ball hit the net. "Um... Mulligan, send it back."

Hawk felt fed up with his friend's lame attempts to play the game. Was he really that much of a nerd that he couldn't get a ball over a simple net? "There's no mulligans in volleyball."

Demetri scoffed, "Says you." He walked over to their things. "Water break."

The boy with the blue hair looked across the net to Phoebe in confusion and scoffed at the other teen behind his back.

Demetri rubbed his face with a black towel that had the red and yellow Cobra Kai snake on it. Sensei Lawrence had amped up the advertising after winning the All Valley tournament.

Two girls walked by the open sandy volleyball court and noticed the snake on the towel. One of them spoke, "Cobra Kai? You guys won that karate tournament, right?"

The nerdy boy slowly put down the towel, confused as to why they were speaking to him. They didn't know he wasn't part of the dojo, "The All Valley...The Rumble in Reseda?" He flipped the towel over his shoulder and hit the post with the side of his fist, "Yes, uh, we, uh...we certainly did."

The couple behind him watched in confusion of Demetri's way of flirting.

The same girl smiled, "Cool. We're gonna go for a swim, but maybe play with you later?"

"Pffff. Most def. Uh, that means 'most definitely'."

The girl giggled and walked away with her friend.

Phoebe chuckled and walked up to her cousin and nudged him, "Look at you, player."

Hawk also walked up to him but stayed on his side of the net, "It'd be nice if you actually earned the Cobra Kai cred you're so happy to take." He verbally jabbed. "When are you ever gonna sign up?"
