Half-stumbling and half-storming down the street away from Moon's house, Phoebe's grip still didn't let up as she half-dragged Demetri behind her.
"Will you let go? Or slow down? You're hurting my arm." Demetri whined. He continued when she didn't answer him. "Where are we going? Where even are we? Neither of us live anywhere near here and neither does grandpa."
Silence again.
"Are we just walking all the way back to Reseda or Van Nuys? Is someone coming to pick us up? You know, like our parents. Are we getting an Uber?"
Silence once again.
Demetri's phone had died and he had no idea where he was. He figured Phoebe didn't either as she just walked in a straight line. They were the only ones around. No cars or other people went past them. "Do you see the cops anywhere?"
Phoebe didn't have a destination in mind. She just kept walking and nearly tripping every so often. The alcohol in her system made her do that. Not to the extent of the canyon party, but quite close to it. She didn't look at him, or speak to him.
It was dark out and every house and street they passed in this neighbourhood looked the exact same. They were lost and she didn't care. That's why she walked in a straight line.
Phoebe tripped and Demetri steadied her with his free hand. She shoved him away letting go of his wrist entirely, "Don't touch me." She hissed with the pure venom of a Cobra.
Demetri rubbed the wrist that she had latched onto for the better part of an hour. "My wrist hurts."
Phoebe had it up to her head with her cousin's whining and complaining. Every question had tested her patience. He had tested her patience to the point where she just exploded.
"What the fuck?!" She screamed.
Her sudden outburst made Demetri flinch.
Unlike with Kayla, she exploded at him and directed her fury at him in a less violent way. She would be grounded for life if she beat him up the way she beat Kayla up.
"WHAT THE ACTUAL FUCK?" She didn't care if the cops heard her, or Kayla heard her, or the entire San Fernando Valley heard her scream at her cousin.
Demetri stood there stunned in silence. He was terrified of her in this moment.
Phoebe turned to him. "I don't give a shit about your rivalry with him right now. One thing, Demetri, you do not do is blab secrets that he told you in confidence. I am appalled and disgusted at you."
"You knew?"
"Of course I fucking knew. We've had sex multiple times and slept over in each other's houses. It would have come up at some point. He couldn't have hid it forever. How could you do that to him?"
"I got so sick of his bullying. I had to do something." Demetri protested.
Something in her just snapped, she backhanded him across the face. "I don't care if you two were fighting or making daisy chains. You don't see me telling the world about it, do you?
"No."
"So why do you think you have the right to tell people his personal shit? I'm ashamed to be related to you." She took her phone from her back pocket and ignored all the missed calls and texts and she went into an app and began tapping the screen.
Demetri saw a car pull up next to the curb. The window rolled down and saw two Cobras peering out; Mikey and Edwin. He knew who they were friends with and there was no doubt in his mind that he sat in the back.
The back window rolled down so he could see Hawk, Big Red, and Rickenberger. Him vs six Cobras. The odds didn't look good for him at all if they decided to jump him.
